New Recipe Showcase (2015-2016)

WoW is really good. It is quite different than Joy. Joy is more of a funnel cake while WoW is a fried doughnut with a fruity undertone.

Sounds like they would pair well together. I donā€™t get funnel cake from Joy though, I get a yeasty sugared bread vibe when used in desserts, and a candy glaze effect when used with fruits. Itā€™s an odd one, but I like it. Seems like wow would be a nice one to have in the stash also, cheers.

Iā€™m sorry I canā€™t really help as I hate Mango, so I havenā€™t worked with them. I do think that is wayyyy too high for the cactus. Even with flavor fade that would taste slightly chemically bitter to me. I would start with .75-1%, it is plenty strong enough to really stand up even at lower percentages. Sometime adding too much of something actually mutes it rather than becoming stronger. You can always add more if itā€™s not enough, but you canā€™t remove it which means starting the steep all over again. I hate waiting for steeping :frowning:
Anyway, just my thoughts. Feel free to disregard as I am still learning myself  Good luck!

Your right sometimes it takes someone else to point out the obvious, start lower and work up if needed. Thanks I do that, usually use .5 so Iā€™ll start at .75. Thanks for the advice

I agree with you thereā€¦ That amount of cactus will have me coughing up a lung. When I first started using cactus it was at 1.5%. I used Pyure to curb the harshness a bit, thanks to @LordVaporā€™s post about Pyure and itā€™s rounding effectsā€¦ but it was still too strong. I now get the desired effect using .5 to .75% with no need for enhancers to smooth it outā€¦

Thanks definately going to start low and work up to a level I like.

ā€œRounding effectsā€ and harshness in the same sentence evokes an association with Ethyl Maltol in me.Iā€™m almost wondering if that may be an ingredient in there nowā€¦

Time to do some research, and see what I can find out.

Cactus is great, but yup, 0.5 - 0.75% is plenty or itā€™ll take over any mix

Iā€™ve been trying to crack into Redditā€™s Monthly Recipe Thread with little success. Over there you need a detailed description with notes to even get a few upvotes. So I gave it try with this recipeā€¦

The Reddit version.

Iā€™ve got everything except the MF Vanilla.
I do have FA Bourbon, CAP French Vanilla, FA Madagascar, CAP Simply Vanilla, RF Vanilla Custard, TFA Vanilla Swirl & the ever-reliable, CAP Vanilla Custard. Would any of those do?

This was my favorite before I got the MF. This should work at .8 to 1%.

A very smooth fruit mashup. The Lemon, Blueberry and Blackberry accents are subtle but very detectable against the Plum topnote. These creams binds these flavors perfectly. It has a slight sweetness to it that tastes like a natural ripe fruit sweetness.

This is a recreation of a drink I loved back in the day. I put a little spin on it with raspberry and IMO it turned out perfectly. The Oba Oba paired with the Marshmallow gave this a sweet sud-sy mouthfeel. This Orange combo worked out perfectly for a spot on natural orange flavor and I still canā€™t say enough about Wild Raspberry MF.

Steep 1 monthā€¦ use heat.

Boys-N-Blue (Gmix)

Notes
Made 9-5-16
Tested 10-13-16

My best description for this mix would be a in yoā€™ face Grape Jam in a light yogurt base. A very full and thick flavored vape with a excellent mouthfeel and a taste that lingers on the palate.

Iā€™ve learned that Honey FA paired with a fruit top note = a jam flavor. Itā€™s definitely a pairing Iā€™ll be trying in the future.

Iā€™m also loving this Boysenberry and Grape combo. This is the best grape flavor Iā€™ve vaped. I could see Boysenberry strengthening any Grape that not quite full enough.

Greek Yogurt and Whipped Cream is one of my standard cream bases I like in some fruit mixes. It seems for this mix it adds more mouthfeel than flavor because Iā€™m only detecting a small hint of yogurt flavor, which actually works out good in this mix.

Vanilla, well itā€™s just vanillaā€¦ it always seem to go well with dark fruits IMO. It keep thing from tasting too dark.

Steep 1 monthā€¦ use no heat
