Nicotine premixed base at 3 mg

Hello all, I’m mixing with a premixed nicotine base and I’m having trouble saving or creating recipes. Is there any way around this. I keep getting pg vg ratio error messages. Thanks

I should be more clearer, my pg is mixed at 3 mg and my vg is mixed at 3 mg. In a regular mix I usually use 12 mil Of vg to 9 mil Of pg and the rest flavor.

what pg/vg/nic content are you shooting for?

Thanks, I understand my overall nic level will be under 3 mg. I just wanted to save my recipes. I tried to save them as 0 mg. Of nic but I must have done something wrong.

The most likely cause is that your desired PG/VG ratio is off due to the fact that you’re adding flavor (which is typically PG). So say your base is 50/50 PG/VG and that is what you want, any flavor you add is going to throw that off by a little bit. Try playing with your desired PG (lower it) until the warning goes away.

Warning: geeky math stuff follows…

You said you are using 12 ml VG, 9ml PG, and the rest is flavor, but what is “the rest” in ml? Are you doing 30ml bottles? 50ml? That’s going to make a difference. I’m going to assume 30ml. So you have 21ml of nic base and 9ml of flavor. 21 ml times 3 mg/ml (the amount of nic base times the strength of nic in the base) divided by 30 (the total, final amount assumed)… (21x3)/30 = 2.1 mg/ml final nic concentration. Out of the assumed 30ml, 12 is going to be VG (since that is what you’re saying you add) so 12/30 x 100 = 40% VG. If 40% is VG, 60% is PG.

Basically…to find out your nic concentration, take the total amount of nic base you use times 3 and divide it by the final volume. To find the VG/PG ratio, take the amount of VG you use, divide it by the final volume, and multiply by 100. That is the % of VG. Those are the numbers you will need to put into the calculator for “Desired strength” and “Desired VG” in order to make it ‘exact’ and make the warning go away.
