The caps I’ve gotten in the past are hit and miss. Not so much in terms of QC. I think @SessionDrummer does, I can tape or even shrink tube the caps and be fine. If they are too bad I’ll go the lour lock direction.
I’ve bought a lot of bottles from SKS with no issues.
I’ve also purchased a lot from these guys too.
With bands if needed.
I’m paranoid about my NIC, hehe, have always broken down, and wrapped. Started gassing about a year ago as added protection.
With UPS ground shipping, around $25 for a dozen 8 Ounce bottles (with caps). Wish they sold six-packs !
This old cheapskate will probably go on the cheap - then test and hammer seller via Amazon over defects.
it will never freeze to a solid point either vg or pg… as the molecular makeup will not allow for that to happen. Best you will get is sludge.
Oh, I see. Your new Nic freezer. I thought you meant outside weather
Looks like the fancy and swank caps (28/400 = 28mm, 400 thread) are these “foam backed Teflon” items:
F217 & Teflon® Lined Caps with Foam backed Teflon® PTFE liners resist attack from virtually all chemicals at room temperature and provides resilience for a tight seal with a low moisture transmission rate. F217 has a low density foam core between two solid layers of LDPE. Uses include: Analytical lab samples, high purity chemicals, strong acids, solvents, environmental samples, pharmaceuticals, and diagnostic reagents. The color green easily identifies the Teflon® liner system. Available in Thermoset and Phenolic caps.
… but it is a 100-piece min. at $0.58 - $0.65 each (dang it !). We might consider a “group purchase” ?
Nicotine is strongly basic in solution (especially in higher concentrations). Teflon would truly rock here !
General information from vendor.
The phenolic caps with cone-shaped inserts provided with the bottles on Amazon look much like this one.
I wouldn’t worry about freezing vg / pg thay have lots of uses, would be very hard to restrict.
I had not considered that.
In that case just use pg nic, it makes life easier anyway. And you can get crazy strong stuff for anyone with pg sensitivity (just be careful with it.)
The rate at which Nicotine in PG/VG solutions will attack the plastic(s) used in the cheapo cone-shaped inserts normally provided is unclear (and the kinetics of reactions will be slowed by lower storage temps). Such concerns (might) justify using Teflon - for those who appreciate and cultivate the “nerd factor” …
I’d be in for 10 green caps.
Here is one option on buying some (28-400) PTFE (Teflon) lined bottle caps (with less monetary outlay):

$32.90 USD (plus any tax and shipping) for 24 peices
Hey @SmilingOgre,
Although I was looking for six pieces of 8 Ounce glass bottles (with decent caps included), the idea of dicking-around with vendor and/or Amazon over possibly defect cheapo caps is not very appealing:
https://www.amazon.com/Pack-Amber-Boston-Round-Black/dp/B01N2WC6HU
Here is an alternate source (through Amazon). The glass is clear (no biggie, really, when stored in a dark freezer). 12 pieces, 8 Ounce (with slightly smaller diameter opening), and they come with PTFE (Teflon) lined bottle caps ($24.04 USD with shipping):
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003G2ZWX4/ref=biss_dp_t_asn
That’s only ~$2 each (straight from Wheaton) - and with a dozen, I could use them for my NET extracts (as well as for Nicotine) storage, for the “long haul”. Methinks I will be going for these particular items forthwith.
This company also looks fairly interesting, and provide Teflon-lined caps and good prices - but they don’t seem to carry 8 Ounce size bottles. Dang. Interesting for smaller sizes, though (15% off “Boston rounds”):
For those with 24mm (as opposed to 28mm) bottle opening sizes, these Teflon-lined caps are dirt cheap:

@Raven-Knightly I am ALL about doing everything nec. to lock down the NIC for extended periods, and am liking this conversation. I have ALWAYS used Phenolic lids. I’m looking at the F217 PE Foam caps, but am confused, and looked up the F217 PE liner caps.
From The Cary Company
The F217 “does not create an airtight seal” ??
What am I missing ??
