Osiris RTA leaking issues

Nice! You got that Odin, sweet! Let me know if you get any seeping between the deck and glass. I’m getting a bit. I’ve read the O-ring on the where it attaches is not quite right. I was hoping it would not be the case and they fixed it. I’m going to switch it out tomorrow and see if that helps. It’s not bad but at least I got the wicking right and juice isn’t pouring out the airflow. After I broke the cotton in, the flavor is definitely 8-8.5 on it.

@Lynda_Marie on the first fill it did seem to be weeping a little directly below the tank, and actually inbetween the chimney lip, and deck, right where your arrow showed. Seemed to be a little loose/wobley. Maybe the o-ring on the chimney might be the culprit. Pulled, re-seated, on 6th tank, no issues since.

Are you sure it’s the glass Not the air ring just a thought !!!

No, it’s not leaking from the airflow, it’s leaking from the space between the base of the deck and the chimney part. Not a lot, but enough that I have to wipe it every so often. The oring is weird, After watching reviews on YT and seeing comments from people who have the rta, seems to be a thing. I love the rta though!

@Lynda_Marie I know you were responding to @Grabbo, and that’s what I posted, and I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about.

@Grabbo, it appears to be weeping out slightly, between the bottom of the chimney cap in the top picture, and the top stainless seat of the deck in the lower picture.

When I first filled mine, and vaped it a bit, I could see a little weeping, and tried to rock the tank back and forth, and it seemed like there was a little “wiggle” in it. Finished the tank, tore it down, re-assembled it, and it no longer weeps, and feels tighter.

As far as I can tell, the o-ring in question, would probably be the one shown on the deck, just below the screw holes.

Same here @Lynda_Marie. I might push the flavor rating up from your scoring, to maybe a 9.0 – 9.5.

It’s def. still a restricted DTL even wide open, BUT, I can’t tell if that’s a limitation of the 25mm deck, OR, if they designed that on purpose, because it seems to ADD to the flavor saturation. I’m still breaking it in, but I’m starting to call it the dense lil flavor chucker.

I didn’t even see your photos above the comment! I answered from my email notification. That’s exactly what I next meant. I’ll finish this tank and reseat the oring, thanks for the tip. I’ll agree on the flavor rating. I wicked with Native Wicks cotton, which I hardly ever use but it was close by… it took a good day to break in with the flavor. It’s a nice little rta, glad I got 2!

Well, I’m still in the EARLY stages of testing @Lynda_Marie, so my final score score is ??? until I keep beating it up a bit LOL.

Currently running a head to head with the SteamCrave Supreme.

Well let me know, as it’s still NEW to me, and I don’t know if I fixed it long term or not. Once I saw your pic with the arrow, I was like, “Yup, that’s where it’s weeping from”, grabbed the top of the tank, and lightly rocked it back and forth, and I could see some movement in that same gap space, with a little weeping. Minor at best, but it seemed as if something was just a little loose.

Took it all apart, cleaned it again, and re-assembled, and now when I try to rock the tank, no movement, and no weeping. Maybe I just got lucky.

@Lynda_Marie I just zoomed WAAAAAY in, and low and behold, look what is RIGHT THERE, in that space …

The deck lock !!!

I wonder if maybe the little flip lock thinga mah-dingey wasn’t properly lined up, and instead of locking the chimney cap on, it didn’t, and maybe left it slightly skewed, loose ?

Is the o-ring dry? I remember having an RTA that the o-rings were dry when I bought it. The tank glass would never seal correctly so a veteran gear guy told me to soak the o-rings in Vg for a day or two. They swelled up slightly and I reinstalled them. It never leaked again.

That’s funny you say that. One of the reviewers on YT, Bogan maybe? Mentioned the lock on the 30mm was easier to move than the 25…as in when you slide it from O to F, Il have time today to take the deck off and redo. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, I think that’s part of the problem. I’ve read others say they’ve replaced theirs. If I’m honest, Sometimes I’m lazy and after I run it through the ultrasonic, I don’t inspect it as good as I should. :grimacing: I was irritated about the tiny flat head screws that are a pain to get to. I see myself stripping at least one.

I’ll let you know. My vehicle is in the shop all day getting the heater core replaced. I’ll have all day to tinker lol No heat heading into winter- no bueno

Yup me too that’s why I’ve mainly gone back to using subohm coils. Dealing with stripped screws and finding replacements is hard.

People seem to get leaking from different places with these osiris’, i had the 30mm one a while back & it used to leak from out the deck lock directly undernieth, at first i thought it was wicking but the airflow was bone dry & if that was the case the af would be the first place to leak from, then one day i pulled my mod out my bag & could smell strawberry as soon as i opened the bag, noticed i had juice all over my hands & an empty tank + my mod would not turn on, my beloved old alien mod, lol, it dumped a whole tank all into it :slightly_frowning_face:, i ended up bouncing the whole setup up the wall outside a taxi rank infront of everyone, lol, i loved that little alien , Its pretty decent rta though i just think there were a few flaws in the design, thats the risk you take with innovation though i suppose & from what i gather not ALL of them have the same leaking issues so they could have remedied that with later renditions?

Yeah love this vendor. Prices are a bit steeper, but in my exp, the only place I could find what I needed like real flavors and liquid barn in the same place so I don’t have to pay shipping twice. I love DIY flavors wait, excuse me “flavours”
