Yea, bummer,…I just saw that on FB. Glad I got to see him live a few times. He puts on a great show, like Zombie puts on a good show. RIP to a legend :pray:t3::metal:

A national acrobat. (Sabbath bloody Sabbath)

Well I know it’s hard for you
To know the reason why
And I know you’ll understand
More when it’s time to die
Don’t believe the life you have
Will be the only one
You have to let your body sleep
To let your soul live on.

I was heartbroken when he parted ways with Sabbath, but I’ll admit I wasn’t a diehard fan of his solo career. One thing I’ll never forget though was in the spring of 81 and I was in boot camp. About half-way through, we were given a day off, so me and a buddy headed straight to the PX and then straight to electronics where I picked out a big ghetto blaster. Had to have something to play, so I started thumbing thru the cassettes and there it was: Blizzard Of Ozz. Oh, I was wondering what had happened to him. We got outside, pressed play and then just stood there for a minute, jaws hanging to the ground. We headed back, boogying all the way (Stop, here comes a NCO, snap to attention) …where were we… boogying all the way back to the barracks

Hopefully the Prince of Darkness is up there with Randy Rhoads… looking down and laughing at us all (you know the one I mean… just think “Crazy Train” )

I could go on for ever about how much Ozzy influenced my playing and how grateful I am to have see him live over a dozen times… (that includes with the original members of Sabbath and him with Jake and then Zakk)… unfortunately I was a couple of years too young to see him with Randy but Tribute was probably one of my faves and I played it so many times I wore out the tape (yes, that means cassette tape lol), have it on Vinyl too (but that’s in my don’t touch collection lol)

Nevertheless… He was an absolute legend and an amazingly talented performer

…and He will be sorely missed by so many people around the world and maybe beyond that
