Pre-Paid Duties on DIY-Ejuice.com?

Sending duties-paid from Canada to the U.S. is now mandatory due to recent U.S. policy changes (August 2025), eliminating the duty-free threshold; Canada Post uses Zonos to help you prepay these duties online via their app, generating a Declaration ID for your shipment to clear U.S. Customs smoothly, with options for automatic or manual duty payment before the package ships.

Key Changes & How it Works (Canada Post):

  1. New U.S. Rule: The US$800 de minimis (duty-free) rule for imports is suspended; all shipments now require duty assessment and prepayment.
  2. Zonos Partnership: Canada Post partners with Zonos to handle this, allowing you to pay duties in CAD.
  3. Process:
  • Create your shipment via a Canada Post tool (like Snap Ship).
  • A Declaration ID is generated.
  • Zonos calculates duties and invoices you (either automatically or after shipment creation).
  • Zonos pays U.S. Customs (CBP) on your behalf using data linked to your tracking number.
  • You get a shipping label confirming duties are settled, ensuring smooth border crossing.

For Other Carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.):

  • Similar systems exist, often involving online portals where you pay fees directly or via the carrier’s tools before shipping.

That’s odd, as I’ve ordered from them at least twice since August, and have never had to pay any duties. Waiting for more intel …

This is Canada, hey! The land of WEF puppets! And like I said in another post, the Canadian are so afraid of the US tariff…
