Pure flavor from Chef's flavor

First SFT incoming…

OK, so to present my “findings”, I’ve chosen a method of setup. That will be the same for every flavor mentioned above. I’m by no means a pro flavor tester, so this is a laymans way of measuring if these aromas are good for me. Taste is subjective, and what tastes good to me, can taste bad for you. I’ll try to find a middle ground in my descriptions.

I’ve made all these SFT’s with max VG @ 2%, which also plays a role in the taste of each aroma, as you will probably get other sensations with more PG added in the mix. This should be something to have in the back of your mind when reading my notes.

This is the setup.
Single coil kanthal A1 at 2.5 ID @ 10 wraps w / Muji cotton pads. Ohm’s out at 0.66 on my simple one battery Aspire Puxos mod. I chose this setup as its a “generic” setup, obtainable by most. Hadaly “Style” Dripper were used for flavor testing.

Coiling:

Width of cotton used, skins removed.

First flavor:

Banana @ 2% SFT.

Smell: Smells like the soft fudgy banana you normally find covered in a chalky dark chocolate. Not sure what the name of that candy is, but the key word here is candy.

Finger taste: The smell does not decieve me on this one, this is that candied banana. Albeit a bit weak, and just as fast as it brings backs memories of eaten sugary goodness this disappears really fast, “mmm… gone”. The taste does not linger at all.

Vape taste: Faint banana candy taste, this needs probably upwards of 6% to be a solid SFT, I will update my % on most flavours. But its noticable and tastes like faint banana candy, albeit I would recomend starting at 4% and work your way up from there for a more solid SF vape.

Comment: This is a very subjective flavor, and there are lots of alternatives out there. I would probably still choose LA’s banana cream for a candied banana purpose, but if you want a true candied banana without the creaminess, this might be a good option. Albeit a strange flavor brand, that can be hard to get. I’m not going to leave any “score”, as I’m a newb doing this, it would be unfair at this point.

I can see myself using this for a sugary coated banana candy, simple 3 aroma recipes, or even with caramel and in some cakes where you want that sweeter banana.

Edit:
I’m by no means sponsored by any of the brands shown in my pics, just to clarify.

Caramel 2% SFT:

Smell: This smells amazing, this brings back true christmas memories of making caramel coated almonds. It’s a lighter cracked caramel, without the burnt smell.

Finger taste: As my nostrils said, this tastes like a lighter cracked caramel, very few burnt notes.

Vape taste: Fairly weak at 2%, but still a true lighter caramel, no burnt taste at this 2%, its sweet, with lighter nutty notes, without being too much up front. I really enjoy this one, but I could see this go up towards 3-4% as a starter. Surprisingly low on that burnt note, which for me is a very positive find.

Comment: I did enjoy this one, and kept vaping this after the intial test, I will definatly try to use this in any recipe that requires a lighter caramel note. Should also be a good addition to toffee recipes.

Cotton Candy 2% SFT:

Smell: Smells faintly of burnt sugar, but only when putting a blind eye in a sniffing effort test.

Finger taste: Burnt sugar. This is not pleasant, as many finger drop test can be.

Vape taste: This has close to no taste at all, if I’m closing my eyes, shutting my ears and blocking all senses apart from taste, a slight hint of burnt sugar. Not going all Daredevil here, but I will have to come back to this at other percentages.

Comment: Nothing to comment, this one were either too low, or too high. TBC.

Back in the old country (Serbia) we have this type of Ethanol made from plums, or grapes, or peaches, pears, quince, even honey.

It doesn’t do anything good in a vape, but it’s sure fun to drink

(sorry for derailing, please ignore and carry on the discussion)

Makes for some great headaches the day after, no leaving the table until the bottle is empty, right?

Never… it’s an insult…! :joy:
