I’ve recently got into building more complex and elaborate coils, various fused, stapled, staggered, claptons, flat wire, braids etc… and I’m having a hard time fitting them in almost every rda I own.
I’ve now realised that they won’t fit in most atomizers, you might find the odd one that has huge post holes, but in general they don’t fit.
To save wasting money on yet another traditional deck rda (post holes and screws), I’m looking for a clamp based system.
What’s good?
I know its a broad question, but until recently I’ve never seen or used them.
I like the look of the Goon and the Mage, but before committing, are there any others that the communities tried? I’d prefer a big build deck, but the clamps are the main focus.
If the Goon and the Mage are the best two, which one would you recommend?
The Goon is good. The Pharaoh RDTA will take any build you can throw at it. Huge clamps that are spring loaded which I wish every rda that came with a clamp style system would follow suit.
In terms of rda. The goon. There is a reason why people say…“it’s not a goon killer”…when another rda hits the market.
But you are hitting the most important point. Design your builds for the atty your using. And as long as your recpie is good then your goon. Oppps. Good
Yup, The @TheTinMan1 has got you covered on this one. I’ve got two Pharaohs now and mostly because of that huge, wonderful build deck. I also really enjoy the 2ml juice well in the bottom. Lasts me quite a while between “fill ups”. My builds aren’t as exotic as the ones pictured but I put a 2x24-32 SS Clapton spaced 7 wrap @ 4mm and it is a producer! Both on watt and temp control modes. There’s no way I could get that build on any other of my attys.
Yeah after his review I might go that way too. I’ve been itching to build some big ol’ fuckers but I have nothing to put them in! I just got my reauleux 300 and it just feels wrong to only have a little theorem on it. Lol And don’t get me wrong, I love that little guy but I feel the need to up the abuse level.
I hadn’t even considered the Pharaoh, but after a bit of a search it’s a firm winner. The price is also a bonus, the reason I was so apprehensive about the goon was the price.
The Mage just seems like second place, now I’ve seen the Pharaohs specs. I also trust Rips product won’t disappoint, it looked banging in his review.
