RDA search

Just a quickie of you don’t mind my fellow vapers.

I’ve been checking out fasttech, and I’m looking at getting either of the following.
IGO-W
MAGMA
PLUME VEIL

I plan on using this as mentioned with my mvp2.
Now can I just buy some ready made 1.5ohm coils (50pack) and some cotton for wicking (don’t perticularly want already wicked coils) to use in a single coil setup on the above RDA’s.

In my research it appears as a “yes you can Jon now stop over thinking this shit and place your order” lol.

The Magma was suggested to me as a starter RDA for single coil builds. I haven’t gotten it yet, but it will be the one I start with I think. From what it sounds like around here, all three of those are pretty good. I don’t think you’d go wrong with any of them.

Let me know what you decide on and what you think about it!

Will do @Jojo2
At fasttech prices I may find myself with more and more VAPE mail. Lol.

The istick50w that I’ve been contemplating is £45 here in the UK. On fasttech it works out to £29.
Bargain!

Yeah, it is hard to beat fasttech’s prices as long as you’re willing to be patient. From what I hear, sometimes they are fast and sometimes they are really slow. LoL I’m looking at getting pretty much the exact same setup you are: an istick 50, a Magma, and maybe a Kanger subtank. Then there’s the flavors…oh the flavors. I’m going to go in debt with this hobby. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just wanted to let you know @JoJo2 that I have just purchased
IGO-W stainless steel
50 pack of pre coiled 1.6ohm coils
Authentic Muji cotton wick pack of 10pads.

All for the massive price of $12.11.

Sounds like you got a great deal. Not too shabby! Here’s hoping it gets there quickly.

To be honest I don’t mind if it takes some time to get here, as long as it arrives lol.

I do have various clearo’s and carto’s etc that can be stripped down cleaned and filled.

My ADV is a nautilus anyway, I just really want to be able to rewick and sample different recipes quickly.

I may have to drill out the air hole slightly from what I’ve been reading but that’s not a big problem.

I’m looking forward to a long relationship with FastTech for all my supplies.

I know this thread is a little old but had a question. I tried dripping on a Vulcan at 14 watts with 26 g DW coils with 2 mg Nic then zero Nic and could not do it. The lung hits were too much for me. My question is , is there a similar set up like a kayfun reservoir style tank that is not a big leaker and is a simple change out with out wrapping coils. May be stupid but this is out of my territory I’m a k1 aspire kanger Protank vivi nova kinda girl. I looked at an egrip yesterday and its has a super nice reservoir but it’s all comprised into one unit. I was thinking of one that is similar to like per say a kanger aerotank any suggestions comments ? Ty

And are these type tanks lung hitters Bc it won’t work for me ?

I may suggest an Atlantis w the air control @ the smallest setting or the kanger mini w air control down??? The kanger comes w a rebuildable deck as well as the pre-made coils…

I use a Tesla Dll RDA and it’s great for flavor … the top just pulls off so it’s easy and convenient for dripping …

Kanger mini what ? I am unfamiliar Hmm kanger makes a reservoir style tank that’s a RBA ? What type of coil is it ? Do you have a link by chance so I can see if I’ve seen it before ? Thank you. I have seen the Atlantis. Although I am concerned I can’t do lung hits do you think any of these will work for me ?

I do have a mini kanger aerotank and the large one with air control. I was more on thinking of a more sophisticated style tank that offers more of a flavor profile closest to dripping yet not really dripping Bc I seemed to be intolerant to it .
I also have the larger nautilus tank but considered the Atlantis but my nautilus is tempermental so was wondering if that continued with the Atlantis figured I’d let a couple versions come out b4 jimpinge in. I really want something different then those style tanks thou. Something better.

Kanger subtank mini has 2 premade coils that r .5 and 1.8 ohms and a rebuildable deck…

Wait you did say u don’t wanna wrap coils rt??

I’m really leaning toward the subtank mini for the same reasons you’ve said. I want to get into building on an RDA eventually, but for the moment I’d like to stick to something closer to what I already know. And, like you, I’m concerned I won’t tolerate lung hits well. Sounds very…intense. LOL From what I’ve read, the Subtank is pretty versatile as a starter. It has an RBA deck or you can use coils, you can mouth to lung with it at the tightest draw or open it up for lung hits, and it comes with a sub-ohm and a LR coil like @quitter1 said.

The biggest downside to me is the price of the coils ATM. You’re looking at something like $20-25 for a 5 pack from what I’ve found. I’ve also heard some people have problems with leaking, but there’s a couple fixes: http://www.reddit.com/r/electronic_cigarette/comments/2r3qfe/fix_for_anyone_with_a_new_kanger_subtank_that_is/ and http://www.myvaporstore.com/Kanger-Subtank-Leak-Troubleshooting-s/331.htm that look like they’d work. A little fiddley, but at least there’s some help out there.

I keep looking at other options like the Lemo/Lemo Drop (which I think I will get eventually), Atlantis, or a regular dripper, but I come back to the Subtank every time. It just seems like a good place to start for someone like me who is hesitant and likes to take things slow. That being said, I’m sure there are people who would seriously disagree. To each their own. And, this is all coming from someone who hasn’t taken the plunge yet, so take it fwiw. Good luck! I hope you find something that works for you. I’ll be following to see what you wind up with.

Don’t go back to the sub tank …just get the lemo drop ! It’s my favorite …so easy to learn on …and you can tighten the draw to take mouth to ling if you want …I tighten it up when I’m having a few beers gives better throat hit …flavor will blow your mind

@MixedUp1& @JoJo thanks I didn’t want to wrap coils. I didn’t think about the subtank Hmm. But I don’t want a leaking fussy tank my stupid natilius is my PITA I rarely use Bc if that but when it’s behaving it’s great. Just too big need a mid size size tank say around a 2 1/2 - 3mls would be good for me. I’d like the ohms to be in the 1.5 area and be able to hit mouth-lung as mentioned above. The lemo is coil wrapping right ?

I keep looking at an egrip but I did notice there are coils within the mod box unit under the reservoir tank wish it wasn’t built that way. I like Eleaf products never had to much of a fuss with anything they’ve put out. mFS has a deal on Em ’ for 48$ right now. Just don’t know enough about them but when I finish my move I will look more indepth.

If you don’t want to wrap coils you can get pre wrapped coils and just buy your own cotton …still way cheaper .Yes you will have to tinker and bit more but the coil itself last a long time and the cotton is easy to change out

This is on which one ? And do the pre made coils have a higher ohm selection ? Cool I hadn’t thought of that as an option. Tinkering is ok but not all dang day Ya know. We all like to tinker to some degree this hobby is very hands on :star2::grinning:

I just like to diy e juice and didn’t want to spend more time researching learning ohms law so indepthly and be a nervous reck I will screw something up and be a statistic.
And the lower ohms not for me thing.

Any RBA can use prebuilt coils …check fasttech …they have already wrapped coils …so all you would have to do is order the specific resistance you want and the cotton and bam !!
