Simple answer, yes. That can happen. It happens to me when I’ve bought coils with cheap wire, or build haphazardly. The person I get my coils from now are consistent. They last me 3-4 months or longer depending on what juice I’m vaping.
Omg I’m just having the time of my life here aren’t I? So, twice in a row now I’ve gotten defective coils from coil clout. Idk wtf is going on. There’s absolutely no way to dispute them either. My one pair kept giving me an atomizer short on and off. They worked for a few days and went flavorless. Just swapped them for a brand new pair, I installed them perfectly as I could, no flavor. Wtf. I never assumed that the coils would be bad, Id assume I did something. I definitely didn’t do anything wrong this time. (I will keep trying to make them work though as I descend into madness…I’ve been through this many times ugh) I’ve installed like 100 coils since I started vaping. Ain’t no way I’m getting no flavor from a brand new pair like this because of something I did.
The guy who runs coil clout won’t even allow people to dispute stuff like this… They also sent me the wrong set of coils, I’m working on that but idk. I hope he actually honors it.
I’m a little pissed right now though considering I got two bad sets coils in a row, and I was sent the wrong ones.
Apparently USPS lost 500 of their orders and they’re rushing to make more. I really hope it’s not quality that’s being sacrificed due to that. Ffs. I paid a lot of money for these. I’m just gonna stop buying them from there.
Contact him on his Facebook page. Explain to him what’s happening. He will ask for photos. Ordered wire from him years ago. He sent the wrong wire spools giving me hybread instead SS. Sent me the correct wire and told me to keep the hybread that I haven’t used since he sent it.
I don’t use Facebook, I’m already emailing with him though. He got back to me and we’ve been communicating. It would be nice to get the order fixed, I’m still a little upset about getting dud coils. Thing is, this has never happened before, every coil I’ve gotten from there has always been perfect. It seems to be coinciding with USPS losing all their product, it just sucks that I’m pretty much SOL with the bad coils. I think I’m just gonna swap this pair tomorrow. Seriously, every time I’ve tried to make a pair of flavorless coils magically work has always left me changing my cotton 7 times with a big ass headache. I think these are just shot. I’ll hold on to them, but I don’t have faith they will ever really perform properly.
Oh yeah… So btw, that last time you helped me with my coils, id actually vaped through 3-4 60ml bottles of juice before they lost flavor. I can go through at least 1 60ml a week. I might have to switch back to single coils in my little mod. I’ve had loads of fun and flavor with this big ass steamcrave though. The fact I chain vape probably doesn’t help the coils last much longer either.
I have the Ragner and it’s at 40mm +. So not much smaller than what you’re running. Chain vaping isn’t hurting you. The coil material is your culprit. If their hybrids that material will effect life of the coils more and he has shown he uses it in his builds. I’m a big believer of Kiss (keeping it simple). Knowing the temperature range at the Ohm’s you vape at. Personally I shoot for the 0.2 Ohm range. Low wattage small wire Fused Clapton’s. They last forever. At least 10 times more juice than your getting now. When they loose flavor it’s a cotton change rather than a complete rebuild. SD uses a simple plain wire build because he burns wire and replaces cotton all the time. The flavor comes from heat of coil on the juice not because it a artisan build. They don’t last very long.
Lmao whoops. Almost posted my name.
Yeah I’m no longer gonna be buying coils from coil clout. Instead of just sending me the right ones, I’m being told to add a wrap myself. After all the money Ive spent here. This is a joke.
Some of the builders he has aren’t the best. I stopped buying coils from him after I got 20 sets that absolutely sucked. Cheap wire for sure because they weren’t even lasting half the time they were. Loss of flavor and rust. Plus one sale had I was going to buy expensive sets of coils but noticed he jacked the price before the sale so with the sale they were the same price they were before. That’s a slap in the face go loyal customers.
Apparently USPS lost 500 of their orders and they’re rushing to make more.
That was him just not getting orders out. It’s happened before, a couple of years ago. He’s got personal issues that need addressing.
So I’ve not had a dry hit in months until recently. Recently changed back to wattage mode after vaping strictly in TC over the last months, and I’m getting dry hits too often.
Recently my cotton has been hitting dry even though it looks mostly wet. Before I was able to vape my cotton so dry that it looked brand new and unused without any discomfort whatsoever.
I’m running the same setup across all my devices. A Hadaly, with a 3*28/40 ss316l coil measuring at 0.30 Ohms, and being fired between 50-60w. For cotton, I’m using Cotton Bacon prime, and I wick fairly tight (not tight enough to need tweezers to pull cotton through, but tight enough for some decent resistance through the coil, and I make sure to pull it back and forth a few times before dripping). The liquid I vape is either 60/40, 65/35, or 70/30 vg/pg, depending on the mix.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? This has only happened before once or twice if I was careless and let the cotton become TOO dry. But recently it’s happening all the time, and the cotton is more wet than it is dry.
It just happened again, and here is the pic of my cotton/coil. I know the coil needs to be dry burned, but it’s not nearly as bad as I’ve had it before (and without any dry hits).
Hi @IggyZ. I experienced something like this not long ago… I found that I had too much cotton in the coil and it kept the juice from wicking properly.
A re-wicked with less material and was good to go again. Mental error on my part as I was in a hurry.
I hope my experience helped.
