Re-Wicking / Dry Burn / Ohms Law..etc

I want to test this out but I’m totally not taking apart that effing tank again. I’ve totally got enough coils now I’m just getting a little carried away with this practice wrapping.

I’ve actually got some coil that I bought a long time ago at the shop but it wasn’t the right gauge, The ohms are too high for single coils. Unfortunately local vape shops don’t really carry much for DIY coil wrapping. I think these would work for a dual coil setup, but I don’t like doing dual coil in my RTAs.

I wonder what would happen if I combined both the wires.

Lol

The 2 ) 28 - 32 Clapton would work fine. It doesn’t state what type of wire but it’s going to be around 4-5 winds at 3mm ID.

I wonder if this will taste any good. Coming out about .2 ohms…

Only one way to find out.

Youll always get a slight difference due to leg length and other varying factors for example…
If the coil is spaced so none of the wraps are touching it will be more accurate.
Put another way…If some of the wraps are touching it will affect the path of the current flowing through the coil and alter the level of resistance.

In the most part youre likely to end up with too much metal thats not being touched with cotton.

All right I’m testing out the seven wrap coil that’s about it I’m tired of getting juice on my hands and constantly having to rinse them.

Go back to your original wire and try 5 wraps at 3.5mm ID and lower the power down.
Make sure the wick it tight so it tugs on the coils when you pull it and seperate the wick ends so they soak up the juice freely.

All right I’m going to do one more

Instead of five I’m actually going to use six and I’m going to try spacing them out a little.

Still going to be ready on your mod . .26/.27 ohm’s . Should taste the same.

No, you can take lighter hits in a subohm if that’s more your style. I only vape subohm builds and mainly mesh rtas at around 50W. I do have a bunch of 22mm single coil rdas that are very satisfying at 35 - 50W both in flavor and vapor production, but they’re no longer available.

You have to experiment a little until you find what works for you. Let people know what you like and if you have a wattage preference and the recommendations will come.

I remember those days of obsessing over everything including coils. You’ll get better at it.

I switched to mesh 5 years ago and have not used wire since then. I really don’t care if the reading is off as long as my mod can fire it I’m good.

See though… The mesh doesn’t seem like any fun. The crazy tri core mowhawk aliens I got from coil clout are expensive compared to mass produced coils, but for what goes into making them and the flavor they give, I think it’s worth it. I wouldn’t buy them all the time, but damn I was impressed with how good they tasted. I think I may have ruined one of them… That being said they feel very sturdy, but I was handling it pretty rough. So I’m saving the other one I have trying not to flavor chase.

I’ve wanted to try mesh, but I really don’t wanna buy a whole other RTA and have 2 different coil types to mess with.
