Re-wrapping batteries

Hairdryer for children definitely! Torches only for adults, heat guns are best. If you own a heat gun, you know that.

I just don’t like putting flames near my batteries :chicken: :grinning:

Agreed this thread was great! Helped me go ahead and make the decision to rewrap a couple of my batteries… they were practically new but the wrap started to tare from going in and out of one of my mods… didn’t bite the bullet for a heat gun either I use my wife’s blow dryer lol

Nice thread thx for the tutorial! I have wrapped several in the past it’s pretty simple! About to do a few more. I like to use a bic lighter and just move it fast along the battery works well never had a failed attempt yet!

I use a blow dryer for mine. If you don’t have one they can usually be found at a thrift store for a couple bucks. :+1:

Had a couple scrapes in this set of batteries… sat them aside on my vape desk figured I would get around to re-wrapping them this weekend… started to pull the wrapper off of one and this is what I saw…

Yup not re-wrapping that one it’s going to get recycled

Agreed… I usually only keep batteries for about 1 year to 15 months then it’s time for new ones

I’m coming up on that 1 1/2 year mark on all of mine

I don’t own any mechs and my topical build ohms out around .4 I usually don’t go lower than .3 and don’t really vape over 80 watts most days I’m right around 55 to 65 watts so these batteries serve me well and very reliable

Does everyone rewrap their batteries. I have a few , where the little white ring fell out. I wonder if i should throw them away or rewrap them. They are only six months old.

You can get replacement insulator rings. I would re-wrap with new insulators if they are only 6 months old.

go to FT and order a bunch of wraps and some insulators. they are pretty cheap for even the custom ones.

the insulator is ABSOLUTELY the “most important” part of the battery wrap and safety !!!

i have found that using a heat gun works the best, using a hair drier sucks and doesn’t work as well.
