There was a time not too long ago that the flavor police went on a Spanish Inquisition-type campaign to get the database cleaned up.
I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but for renegades such as myself who often use other-than-mainstream flavor houses, it was a nightmare. I found it helpful to be preemptive and include a direct link to the flavor in the flavor notes, knowing that most will likely not take the time to research a flavor like SD did above.
There were no matches in the database for it. I don’t want to create a furore over this as i understand that there are flavours made by local, smaller flavour houses which might not be on the ELR database. It would be nice if members commenting on my recipes could check themselves before asking me to correct ingredient names.
I have updated my stash and have now tried to be as true as the database will allow me to be. I could have just chosen database compliant flavours for the recipes that ive posted but that wouldnt exactly be authèntic IMO. I will try puchasing and using flavours from internationally reputable flavour houses in the future.
This is an International forum, and i can only imagine how challenging it must be to maintain a database that is accurate.A database cleanup is required but that takes time and as the old adage says, time is money. I’d be glad to help if i can but i dont even know wherebto start
Hey bud, sorry for the confusion and lack of involvement on my part. My favorite cousin is up at my house, i only see him once a year so ive been super busy. Ive only had enough time to bop around and fix some flavor names, i didnt see this post until now
I went through your stash and fixed the flavor names that i could fix. It isnt really your fault, the database is just jammed full of crap. If you ever have any questions feel free to message me, ill get back to you as quick as i see it.
