Shipping Nicotine Overseas

I am a student here in the US and will be finishing school very soon. I will move back home to Saudi Arabia. Because I have limited luggage to go with me on the flight back home, I thought I could ship all my vaping supplies (wires, pg, vg, nicotine, flavors, etc.) with a friend who is shipping household items on a shipping container. From what I understood, the shipping method will be on a container using ocean freight. This means the items will be in shipping for 15-30 days.

I am just worried about the nicotine. Will it go bad during shipping? Mind you, this will be shipped in August to the middle East :sunny: :thermometer: :fire:

I wouldn’t risk it. Of course I’m no expert but if it somehow survive the 15-30 days in a hot container, moment it enters the country, I’m sure it won’t make it out of customs

Good luck tho

If you buy a liter or 2 of 100mg nic and take it with you in your luggage, it’ll stay cool and you’ll have nicotine for a long time…
Like eStorm said, I wouldn’t risk putting it in a container because of the heat. Those containers are exposed to the hot sun for days on end… it’ll be well cooked by the time it reaches its destination.

Check KSA customs rules.
They do not have the reputation of being the most flexible customs in the world and it would be a shame to get on the wrong side of the law.

those containers get super hot , id be worried about all your liquid products not only your NIC … maybe you could find some kind of box thats keeps things cool than you wouldnt have to worry so much , i read about it on another thread ( cooling box )

Liters of liquid in your luggage is probably NOT allowed.

Why not just use a third party carrier and ship it separately to a family member ?
Faster, safer, easier to get through customs ?

Really? I’ve always carried liters of alcohol in my check-in luggage. How else do you have to transport your tax-free alcohol? You certainly can’t bring it onboard anymore.

If you buy it in duty free you can carry it on plane.
You can stuff all kind of things in the duty free bag

KSA seems to be pretty unconcerned about vaping. Double check but you should be able to transport nic in your luggage.
That being said, you should be able to source locally as well, according to what I have read.

You really have to be careful with that these days… if you make the wrong turn somewhere on an indirect flight, you have to check in again and you won’t be able to take your duty-free alcohol with you because you can’t check it in your luggage again.

I’m sure if you asked the tsa or the carrier you are not allowed to ship 100mg nic.

Thats is why NR uses Fed ex because anything over 60ml/mg isnt allowed on planes

I tried looking for info about the legality of importing vaping supplies to KSA on the KSA costoms page, nothing there. Did some search online, nothing there either.

I’ll do a little more investigation about the legality. Anyway, as of now, everyone seems to agree that a 15-30 days shipping in container this time of the year is likely to damage the nicotine.

I could see this “cooling box” thing fidalgo_vapes mentioned. Or find out if I can bring 100mg nicotine on the trip.

Call your local consulate branch here in the US. I’m sure they will have some advice.

I’m surprised that vape devices cannot be in checked bags but ok to go in carry-on bags.

Your going to need a constant supply.
“Nicotine salt e-juice has a longer shelf-life: Nicotine salts are more stable than freebase nicotine, which means that nicotine salt e-juice will last longer in storage without the nicotine degrading.”

That’s a good idea. I’d have to read a bit about nic salt before I make any decisions. If it doesn’t have a different affect on my recipes, then why not!

It is the batteries that are not allowed in the cargo hold because of the fire hazard, everything else including eJuice / nicotine is fine as checked in.

Update.

I bought 3 bottles of 250ml 100mg nicotine from NR. Took them out of the freezer a few minutes before the flight and sticked them in my luggage. Arrived home 24 hours after I took them out of the freezer. I put them back in the freezer as soon as I got home. I think the nicotine should be good.
