Soapy tasting Root Beer recipe

I’ve been really getting into Root Beer flavors lately but the last 4 batches I’ve made taste VERY soapy, even after steeping. Like straight liquid hand soap taste, and I can’t figure out which flavor is doing it.

If anyone has any clue as to what it could be I’d appreciate any tips.

Here’s the last 2 recipes that taste like soap.

you will have to adjust for your taste. I use this as a basis and some time mix using different root beers
and vanillas. I usually just look up the percentages the manufacture suggests.
Basically using just the 2 flavors i get a nice root beer.

i’ll agree with Psyc here. Keep it simple. Root Beer is already a complex flavor, don’t know why you’d need to stack 15-20 flavors on top of it.

My go to Root Beer:
Root Beer FLV - 3%
Vanilla Ice Cream LB - 4%
Vanilla Bean FLV - 1%
