Steam Crave Titan V2 Combo kit review

I want to do a review of the Steam Crave Titan v2 Sub Ohm box mod kit! I didn’t get sent this, I paid for it myself.

Wow. Y’know, sometimes bigger is definitely not better, but in this case it is!!! This chonker of a mod really delivers. The massive size of it allows a dual coil setup that actually works for a chain vaper such as myself. I’ve steered clear away from dual coil setups because I get them way too hot, not the Steam Crave Titan v2! It does get a little warm, its pretty much the same level of warmth as when I chain vape a standard size RTA with single coil. It doesn’t get anywhere near as warm as one of my standard RTAs with dual coils. Those actually get hot.

Yesterday it was about 80 degrees outside. As I puffed away, the Steam Crave didn’t really get any warmer than my standard size RTA with a single coil. It almost seems like the massive 510 connector plate works almost like a heat sink helping to transfer heat to the outer shell of the mod. When I felt the mod warming in my hand, I admit I got a little worried and I checked the batteries. They were nice and cool despite the mod feeling a bit warm in my hand.

I threw in the 2 stock coils and the flavor was just amazing. Wow wow wow. This is definitely the most flavorful RTA I’ve used yet. I’m surprised it’s doesn’t have more spotlight on it for being one of the most flavorful RTAs. With the stock coils at .10-.11 ohms, I can crank up the voltage to 3.7, giving 115watts. The vapor is still relatively cool. This is the first setup I’ve been able to use over 100watts without getting extremely hot, and I can freaking chain vape it at that wattage. There’s no way I could do that with a standard RTA dual coil setup at 100+ watts. Along with the flavor, the clouds are of course nice, thick, dense and fluffy. This thing feels like the definition of “cloud chucker.”

The drip tip is unique. Outside its bigger than a standard one, but it still uses the standard 810 connection. I really like that I can just press my lips against it rather than around it. It gives sort of a flat feeling, and it’s very comfortable.

As far as the size, I’m a lady and I don’t have huge hands, but I was able to comfortably drive and hike while holding it the entire time. Climbing hills, hopping rocks. Now… I really feel that this is not something I would want to drop. It’s kinda heavy, it will hit the ground with more force. I’m not sure I want to find out what would happen if I dropped this on a rock, and luckily Ive just never dropped my mods while hiking. Currently I only see a pretty pricey leather case available for it on Etsy. I’m thinking of devising some of my own added protection, perhaps some silicone or rubber with adhesive cut to fit any areas I’m worried about it dropping on. Not implying that the mod is weak or something, I just don’t really want to f around and find out.

In the past, I’ve had issues with bottom flow RTAs and leaking. I was a little worried at first, but I haven’t had any leaks with the Steam Crave Titan V2. They included this lovely juice flow lock feature, so when you open the fill cap and break the vaccum the juice doesn’t come pouring out the bottom. This is really a necessity for this RTA. As far as leaking, I do get a little bit of juice around the airholes with heavy use, that could be also because my tails are a little too thin. Haven’t really had any wicking problems. I forgot to close up the juice flow lock before I filled it once. Oh boy does it come running out. Yeah, don’t do that. Luckily I didn’t fill it up too much.

Even the short tank is huge. 20ml capacity. Typically I refill my tank often because I never fill my standard RTAs much over halfway. Filling this thing halfway… Even with the short glass it lasts me a very good, long time. They got you covered too, and give you an extra short glass and 2 extra long glasses in the kit. There is also a vape band for the glass, it fits but it feels just a little loose. Again I’m thinking of maybe crafting something with a thin cut piece of silicone adhesive sheet. I feel like I must protect this thing, it’s awesome and I care about keeping it safe.

This mod doesn’t appear to have really any settings. it has a voltage lock and a puff counter reset. Kinda wish I could turn the brightness down. The screen is very bright. That’s also a good thing though. The performance of the mod itself is so awesome it doesn’t need these little settings though. When I first looked at buying one, I was slightly intimidated by the variable Voltage vs watts, but it’s really not a whole lot different, it’s actually awesome. If not the same as selecting wattage, it’s even better. Wattage is still displayes as well.

I don’t want to be picky, just honest. Any con I have about this mod is very insignificant compared to the way it performs. I love it. Sometimes I’m out and about and have to change cotton. Because of the nature of the design, it’s almost impossible to do a cotton change on this without getting juice on my hands or dripping on my mod. It’s not like a ton of juice or anything, but if you’re changing cotton in the go you might definitely want to have some extra water or wet wipes. This mod is so pleasant to use it totally makes up for that though.

Now, the 4 18650 batteries. I believe having 4 is also a necessity, especially with high wattage vaping. I can get around 400 puffs at 100watts before the batteries get to about 20%. The battery indicator doesn’t show % but it’s telling the truth. It shows 1 bar when the batteries reach around 25-20%. I don’t like to run my batteries too low so to me that is a truthful indicator. Some mods show the battery bar still green and half full when in reality the batteries are at 25%… That leads to draining them to 4% which I really don’t like to do. The Titan v2 is much more honest with you when it comes to displaying the remaining battery life. I’d say a quad set of batteries last me nearly a whole days worth of chain vaping. I usually change them out once a day.

One thing, I’m not sure if it’s my batteries but I did notice one pair drain much lower than the other. I was really pushing it before I changed them out though.

The kit also comes with the Titan v2 Mesh deck. It’s a really cool addition, but I’ve never used mesh before and unfortunately couldn’t get it to work properly with the stock mesh. It didn’t burn or anything, I just couldn’t get any flavor. I’ve been directed to use some different mesh strips.

The postless deck for standard coils though, excellent. Awesome flavor!!! It also has something called a “series coil” option on the standard deck. I’ve never used a series setup, so I’m not exactly sure what the perks of that are. I’ve read that it adds the ohms of coils together rather than becoming half. So two 0.13 ohm coils would come out to .26 omhs. That’s actually pretty cool, I gotta try it out sometime. I’m a little short on coils at the moment though.

Oh gosh… Since I’m a total chain vaper Ive been running through juice quick on this thing. I mix my own juice so I’m considering lowering my 1.5mg nicotine down to .75 or .5mg. I don’t terribly mind the juice usage since I do mix my own and it’s cheaper. I think frequency of use definitely dictates how quick the juice gets sucked up. If I fill the tank about halfway, a little over 10ml, it seems to last maybe 100-200 puffs.

I feel like this mod is super underrated performance wise. Turns out it’s much more than just a a novelty, I initially bought just for the novelty. I figured I would use it on occasion and try to keep it at home where it would be nice and safe… Now I don’t want to put it down. I definitely don’t regret spending money on this. This thing does not disappoint.

Great, great, great write up @Mediocre_Remedial. I’m still shocked that this was your FIRST SteamCrave !!!

You really picked out the heavy hitter for your first one.

Oh yes, many (not all) SteamCraves will absolutely gravity dump if you open them up without shutting off the juiceflow.

Great review, young lady! For the protective case, I bet you could make something out of a used crate.

Some day, I’ll build a coil. 1st, I gotta make a juice I can taste and doesn’t cost a lung 'cuz the nic is so high.

Monday, I made 3 bottles @ 20 ml. 3% Nic. Payday bar, Malt Shake and Whoppers. I have 3 pods with four replacement pods each. Each has different ohms and watts.

@SessionDrummer helped me with the Whoppers flavor percentages. Then I looked through public recipes and found better %'s for my flavors.

However, I had no idea/never occurred to me I could go less than 1%. Guarantee, I’ll chain vape.

Thanks for the insight!

Did you notice I made no reference to your used crates flavor storage, that I’ve only seen the back of? :innocent:
