Charlie Noble did a nice blog post regarding this as well. Several links to source articles near the end of the post.

Gone. Glad you fixed the link to point to what you wanted us to see!!!

Cool video with the vacuum. Articles showing the difference between tobacco and e-cigs are showing up with more frequency. I just wish they would also explain why vaping is under attack. To me this is of equal importance to reveal the agenda.

Did you notice the clock countdown to the right. That is most likely the amount of time I have left in business unless there are some changes made or time is given to comply. Actually that is the countdown for all Vape Shops, Juice manufacturers, Equipment Providers, etc, etc, etc…

I did see that. Isn’t that a European thing only? How does that affect your business? You’re in the US, right?

Would you be able to do something like the Aussie’s doubler concept? Just selling flavor mixes with base with no nicotine that they mix later?

I hope you are right, but I think that is the US countdown…

Well it says “The TOBACCO DIRECTIVE will start to apply to electronic cigarette businesses in” just above the countdown clock. I do believe it’s the Tobacco Products Directive which as far as I know is the European Union legislation about to go into effect, so I too hope this doesn’t affect you. But the issue is the same all over - governments are in bed with tobacco and pharma, and they are using lies and propaganda to advance their agenda to destroy vaping. It still blows my mind the audacity of these jackwagons. In reality what they’re saying is we are going to protect you from vaping. now here, smoke these cigarettes and give us your money.

I’m not sure if this is the current version, but here’s a link to a PDF of the legislation as it was last year.

You asked for the why articles. Here’s one.

If people are unable to buy equipment to vape then we are all screwed, no exceptions other than those who can spend the 2 million per app for FDA approval of product. IF somehow we are able to sell equipment then we could sell ingredients…VG, PG, Food Flavoring, Bottles, and the like. They can not stop us from selling these things. The question is will we have people with equipment to sell to AND, will they take the time to learn to blend themselves or just go back to smoking. Truth be told, with out equipment to sell, Vape Shops will not make enough money to stay in business…

I wasn’t sure where the profit margins were for you. Assumed much of it came on the juice side. I know Gunners Gold (botboy i think) has their premix DIY juice flavors. Just thought something along those lines might be able to save a portion of the business while it morphs into it’s future state.

Not sure that comparing retail and an online ordering system is a fair comparison though.

This is precisely why I’m still in the “feeling it out” stage of starting a commercial liquid line. Sure, I’m dropping my mixes off to local shops and getting some very positive feedback, but as a current business owner I know precisely what is involved in starting and maintaining a business. I don’t want to do it only to have it squashed by government in a matter of months. One luxury we have here in the US is the speed at which government works. If those jackasses in Washington get serious with stopping the e-cig industry it will not happen overnight. So from a personal vaper’s perspective we don’t really have to worry about not being able to get equipment - for a while at least. But I think the best advice a vaper could take would be to make sure you have some solid mechanical mods and RBAs you can maintain. Stock up on nic. Then if they do legislate vaping out of business at least we could still vape on. As for yourself brother @ringling, I don’t think you have anything to worry about yet.

Not sure that’s the case here.

Deeming Regulations
On Oct. 19, the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products submitted to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) the final deeming regulations on cigars, pipe tobacco, e-cigarettes, hookah tobacco, nicotine gels and dissolvable products. Generally, the OMB has a period of 90 days to review final federal regulations. If approved, the regulations will be published in the Federal Register and take effect in 30 days.

I feel for you @ringling. I hope vapors wake up and realize tomorrow isn’t always promised. Action today is the only safe answer.

Right, and this has been an ongoing issue for a good while. I didn’t say there’s nothing to worry about at all, just not yet. I just wonder if there is anyone in government who would appeal that decision if approved. I hate to admit but I’m not even sure how that works…but wouldn’t it be an appeal to the Supreme Court?

Actually the Supreme Court doesn’t usually involve itself in cases until they have gone through several years of courtroom drama and appeals in lower levels of courts. It would have to start as actions in State and County court rooms and that’s way harder than keeping it off the books in the first place.

OK, believe it is the EU timetable, HOWEVER, in the US we are in the last stages of debate. Take a look at this link posted by @Pro_Vapes not that long ago. Here’s the bad thing though. They can if the like, once passed, implement law immediently is they wish so our timetable could be even worst then the EU, we don’t know…

The LINK…

My shop, percentage of profit markup on juice is higher then equipment but, you have to sell a whole lot more juice to make up profit made on equipment. The percentage of profit as a whole shop wide intake goes to equipment, hands down…

I’m still hopeing this will be tied up in the courts for years to come cause BIG PHARMA has got their heads so far up the butts of the FDA we have little chance of swaying them without a huge fight…
