One day I said that capitalism sucks … and many told me no, that it is fantastic …
But it seems that all problems come from the money …
I don’t know, maybe we have to rethink the economic model …

Capitalism doesn’t suck WHEN strictly regulated to prevent money-can-buy-everything. It is corruption and bribery that suck (like you said, money that can buy everything) and want to hijack capitalism. With lack of regulation a small group of powerful people can steal the capitalism and the republic; and when the state starts working for benefits of corporations instead of people, it becomes dangerous because eventually corporate money will corrupt science, media, laws, books, the truth, everything, eliminate personal freedoms, your privacy, make you a robot/slave they totally control.

As Peter Thiel said “Capitalism and competition are antagonistic. Competition is for losers. If you want to create and capture lasting value, look to build a monopoly".

I’ll go a step further and include democracy according to those same beliefs. " Competition Democracy is for losers. If you want to create and capture lasting value, look to build a monopoly one party system (or control all parties)".

So, basically he suggests a new system that has barely anything in common with capitalism, democracy, your rights, but corporativism, where a small group of selected individuals are writing the laws and rule the world and your life (meaning you get your position on the level of a sheep).

That’s actually pretty close to marxism. One party, selected leaders, no democracy, full survaillence, no privacy, no opposition or contrarian beliefs allowed, supervised central news/media provider, the ministry of truth, total control. We just need those social stamps for good behavior (oh wait, those are planned with covid19 freedom pass).

That is capitalism … When states work for the welfare of people instead of corporations, it is socialism …

Just saying capitalism needs to be regulated to prevent exactly what Thiel is suggesting; that’s beyond capitalism (like he also says) and not a system most people would really want.

I think we do. The problem with capitalism is that in order for it to keep succeeding it has to keep growing and there’s no end to it. It’s a huge greedy monster looming over us at every turn. We can’t make a keystroke without being tracked for our buying power. And then they make money over money by selling our data to other hungry bloodsuckers.

A little off topic but brings to mind something Amazon and Elon Musk said about AI being a threat to humanity. It happened when Amazon discovered two of their AI computers had created their own language and were talking to each other. Amazon shut them down.

It depends. Were they male computers? If so, they were probably sharing porn sites.

This topic is very interesting … It seems that AI V2 is already underway, advanced artificial intelligence, they call it. I can’t give you the references, but I’m sure a search will clear it up. In this AAI, it is proposed to extinguish humanity as a possible resource …
I’ll look up the references …

Lol, let’s hope that’s all it was.

That android I referenced above, named Sophia, has purportedly said to her creator that she would like to destroy humanity. At least, that’s what the newspaper article wrote. In some ways this doesn’t surprise me because we destroy ourselves all the time and sometimes make statements about how we can’t stand people…or society…or politicians…or this one or that one. AI pretty much learns from us, at least at first. We better be careful and start looking inside before jumping into the future like fools.
