Man, that’s bizzare. I’ve been meaning to wrap a pair and throw em into one of my RDAs. They just don’t taste that good to me. They feel kinda underpowered, maybe doesn’t hold enough juice in the coil. Idk what it is. They just don’t give the nice crackling and burst of flavor that I get from the alien coil premades from coil clout. I really wanna make my own wire because of this, but it’s just another thing to do. A single pair of coils last me for months so it’s not like I’m breaking the bank to get replacements. I only use single coil builds though.
So those 2x 24 N90 are 0.14, so dual coil on those are going to be around 0.07…Most normal regulated mods won’t fire coils below 0.1.
DNA chips will fire down to 0.05, Some older Snowwolf/Voopoo/Geekvape will as well. Only mod I have besides a DNA chip that will fire that low is an old Voopoo Drag 1.
i wouldn’t get discouraged, this happened to me alot
try some staggered, stapled or even juggernaught coils
they won’t feel underpowered.
once you find the right ones your set forever
The two coils .77 and .33 mtl or rdl is that right !!
if so why would you duel coil these also the .27 that’s for a single coil on those specs duel would be .13/.14 what rank/ rda are you using or what mod can’t see why there not working !!!
That’s probably right, I’m not very knowledgeable about that as I don’t use MTL or RDL. As far as why would I duel them, I don’t know, just thought that’s what I was supposed to do.
The larger coils I was trying to use in several Dead Rabbit RTA’s (V3), Steam Crave Plus RDTA, Asgard Mini RDA, Dead Rabbit (V3) RDA, and Voltrove RTA, All gave me the same error (Ohms too low). Mods were; Steam Crave Plus, Lost Vape Thelma, VooPoo Topside, Empire Squonk, Aegis Ledgend Classic L200, Vaporesso Gen Max, Vaporesso Gen 200, Aegis X, Guar 21, Smok Arc Fox, and VooPoo GT.
I just thought of something, so pre-fire coils always read much lower ohms until they’re fired. I wonder if there was some type of automatic protection in the mod that stopped it because of the pre-fire ohms reading. Did you try to fire a single coil at all? I’ve never seen or heard of that being a problem though.
@Mediocre_Remedial I did try just a single coil and that didn’t work either. I’m wondering if it was a bad batch of coils.
Sorry but I don’t get why you can’t even fire one all of those mods should fire those coils it’s wire !!!
Has to be the coils.
like Grabbo said, it’s wire. Coils aren’t bad, they just ohm out too low for your device to read them. Even if you’re trying a single coil with the 0.14 N90’s, it’s probably going to ohm out around 0.08-0.1 until it’s pulsed and strummed. Only then will it come up to the 0.14 it’s stated to be.
The legs on those N90’s are pretty long, if you were to add another wrap or 2, the single coil would probably be above that 0.1 threshold and would fire no problem.
