I just wanted to say Thank You. Not smoking can be a daily struggle for me at times because I did it for so many years. This site, all you good folks and the good will here helping each other are life savers to me. I just wanted you all to know I appreciate you
Hope you find that flavor that makes you say “why would I ever smoke when I could be tasting THIS?”! Good luck!
Hopefully this will be some words of encouragement.
Between Wifey and I we have a total of 84 years of smoking. 40 for Wifey and 44 for me. I stopped on 02/25/2014 and wifey on 03/15/2014. Neither of us have touched or wanted one since. I think we owe it all to finding our favorite flavors and letting it happen not forcing it.
Best of luck to you and remember we are ALL here for you if you need to lean a little.
Awww… thank you! I am finding anniversary things make me want to back slide. My husband and I golf when the weather is good. I vape like a fiend on a golf cart… I drained two tanks in 9 holes last weekend. It probably looked like the cart was on fire to people on the course lol
I keep mixing… I have mixes that are almost perfect to me now. It does help a lot!
You’re part of a great bunch of people. I’m sure the majority of us feel exactly the same way. We’re all here together in the best forum in the matrix.
All I have to do is remember that I once smelled like a dirty ash trey and that alone makes vaping so much more attractive than the stinkies.
Driving home from work I had a cop rolling up in my blind spot …I’m pretty sure he was wondering why this old dude was “hotboxing”
Yeah… a car full of smoke used to mean you were spending the night in a bad place… lololol.
That river is about as deep as it is wide! It is people such as yourself @Maureeenie that make it easier for all of us to stay off the stinkies!
ahhh…the good old days. Just listening to tunes in an old Mustang parked on a dirt road…or listening to a Cheech and Chong tape.
Dave’s not here man…
(it’s 2017…) Open up Man! I have the nicotine!
Right on. this really is the best bunch of people. I remember when I quit smoking… it was a gradual thing, i remember it was about two weeks since i had a smoke, i lit up and maybe hit it 3 times, the whole time trying to find that hit, the one that makes it all worth while. Well I couldn’t find it. It was just disgusting I could not hit it again.
I guess what i am saying is don’t force it, just let it happen. Well that was how it worked for me anyway. Good luck man
Hell yeah. I was 16 in 1986 when I bought my first car with my own money. It was a '65 Spitfire Orange Mustang Coupe. It was just a 200 inline 6. But damn if she wasn’t a looker. I can still remember the feeling of driving it home. It was the first time I drove a stick. My Dad riding shotgun was hollering at me “you have to double clutch 2nd” because the syncros were worn. I had no idea what double-clutch meant. But I soon figured it out.
That was the car I started smoking in. I had a carload of girls coming home from the fair. They all smoked. So like a dumbass I had to try it. I still have the front license plate I painted up for it using the leftover paint the car was painted with.
I quit smoking wild turkey. Cold turkey isn’t harsh enough. I nearly died in ICU. 5 years went by and I considered taking up smoking again. Instead I tried vaping. And as mentioned, thanks to the people here I am still cig free.
I had a monster '73 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland. Handled like a pig in jello on the turns, but man oh man I had a blast on a straight road. Got 3 speeding tickets in the first two months of having it.
Good thing they didn’t have pot sniffing dogs in the patrol cars back then. Now I drive a crappy Focus. The whole car could fit under the hood of the stang.
I still dream about smoking. That’s the toughest. Then I stop for my coffee and some worn out looking older guy buys two packs of reds and forks over 18 bucks. That usually an instant turn off.
It’s hard, some people are genetically bred to smoke until they are 90. Unfortunatly the rest of us 99%ers have wildly detrimental health issues because of it.
There was a guy in a garage this morning smoking, it smelled so awful… and then I realized that was me for almost 40 years.
SO I was vapeing at work the other day. Standing next to a smoker. Suddenly It tasted like my coil was on fire but the tank was pretty much full. Horrible burnt taste made me wana puke. Turns out it was the guys ciggy smoke filtering into the air vents as I inhaled. Put me right off the idea of smoking again.
