A few moons ago, I posted a quick preview of the Blaze Max Pro RTA on ELR, and let’s just say… I caught a bit of heat. Words like “shill” were thrown around, and fair enough — I was hyped. But now that I’ve had time to really put this tank through its paces, I’m back with a full review — and honestly? If being impressed makes me a shill, then pass the feed bucket and call me sponsored.
Because folks, the Blaze Max Pro didn’t just live up to the hype — it rewrote the playbook. This thing delivers flavour so rich it’s made me rethink my entire stance on airflow design. I’ve tested it with custards, colas, and all my usual go-to juices, and it hasn’t just performed — it’s shone.
So no, this isn’t a sales pitch. It’s just the honest ramblings of a cranky old goat who found a tank that actually deserves the praise. Let’s get into it.
Alright, you herd it from the Goat first — the Blaze Max Pro RTA by ThunderCloud Creations, in collaboration with Mike Vapes, might just be one of the best flavour-chucking tanks I’ve ever clapped hooves on. You know me, I don’t get easily dazzled by shiny things unless there’s some serious substance behind the sparkle. But this thing? It’s not just a looker — it performs like an overcaffeinated goat on a trampoline.
Looks: Gold Without the Gaudy
Let’s talk first impressions. I went for the gold version, half expecting it to look like I was wearing Liberace’s vape gear. But no — it turned out classy rather than flashy. The satin finish and tasteful accents balance perfectly when paired with my black Vaporesso Target 200. The Blaze Max Pro is a chonk, no doubt about it — 28mm wide at the top, tapering to about 26mm at the 510. But it’s a smart kind of big. No unsightly overhang, no awkward top-heaviness (unless you slap it on a tiny mech like I tried — more on that later).
Build Quality & Deck: This Goat’s Playground
This RTA feels premium. Solid stainless steel, precise machining, and knurling that’s grippy without chewing your fingers up. The postless deck is a breeze to work with — even if you’re an old goat like me with failing eyesight and hands that have seen too many coil builds.
Now here’s the kicker — the “W” shaped airflow design with 31 honeycomb holes per side. That’s not a typo. Thirty. One. Per. Side. Bottom and side coil airflow in one elegant sweep, making sure your coils get the VIP air treatment from every direction.
Airflow: Top-Side Bliss, No Leaks
It’s a top airflow tank, which normally raises a skeptical brow from me. Top airflow usually means leak resistance, but often at the cost of flavour — especially when vaping dessert profiles. I’m a bottom-airflow purist when it comes to rich custards and warm bakery vapes. But the Blaze Max Pro flipped that idea on its head. I tested it with my Creamageddon Custard and Goat a Cola, and let me tell you — this thing doesn’t just compete with bottom airflow tanks. It beats some of them.
Smooth draw? Check.
No gurgles? Check.
No leaking? Double check.
I’ve vaped through multiple fills, and the top airflow hasn’t let me down once. You get a silky direct-to-lung hit with a dense, punchy flavour profile. Who knew I’d be converted?
Capacity & Filling: Thirsty Goat Approved
The Blaze Max Pro holds a generous 6.5ml with the straight glass and a whopping 8ml with the bubble glass. That’s not an estimate — that’s confirmed, and it doesn’t depend on your build or setup. This thing is a juice tank in the best way possible. The top fill system is goat-simple: unscrew, pour, vape. Wide ports make messy refills a thing of the past.
Coils: Claptons That Keep Going
Credit where it’s due — the included coils are surprisingly good. You get a pair of 3-core fused Claptons, 3mm ID, 6 wraps, and 0.28 ohm each. I’ve been using them throughout my testing and haven’t felt the need to swap them out yet. They deliver solid flavour and hold up beautifully.
That said, my only gripe? They don’t crackle like alien coils do. Call me old-fashioned, but I like my vapes with a little bit of sizzle. Still, the performance is great, and they’re perfect for testing this tank out of the box.
The Mod Match & The “Gold God” Moment
I tried pairing it with my Hellvape Trishul mech mod, chasing that full gold god aesthetic. Visually, it’s glorious. Practically? It’s a bit too top-heavy. Stick with something beefier and regulated like the Target 200, and you’ll be golden — literally and figuratively.
Drip Tip & Pin
Now, you know I can’t end a review without at least one complaint — it’s practically a tradition at this point. So here it is: the drip tip. Yep, the 810 that comes with the Blaze Max Pro is a perfectly serviceable plain black number. Comfortable, wide bore, no problems at all. But here’s the thing — the older Blaze tanks came with a bit of flair. A swirled red, black, and gold tip that made the whole setup pop. This time around? Just black.
It’s a small thing, sure, and probably a cost-cutting or “keep it classy” choice. But for us flashier vapers who like a bit of personality up top, it’s a missed opportunity. I mean, when your tank’s this blinged-out and bold, why stop at the tip?
Underneath, you’ll find a gold-plated 510 pin, keeping your connection clean and responsive.
Final Verdict: Blaze of Glory
This isn’t just a good RTA — it’s one of the best I’ve used in a long while. Whether you’re a flavour freak, a coil builder, or just someone who wants an RTA that works right without twenty fiddly compromises, the Blaze Max Pro delivers. It’s leak-resistant, easy to build, great to look at, and absolutely stellar on flavour.
Mike Vapes and ThunderCloud Creations? Take a bow. You’ve made a believer out of this crusty old goat.
Should You Get It?
Love flavour? This one’s for you.
Hate leaks? This one’s even more for you.
