The Joys of Graves' Disease and other Autoimmune conditions

Like I said, I don’t actually tgatbwas the reason, so I’m just trying to let it go.

I have a redbubble/print on demand products. I upload my abstract, mostly hand painted designs then purchase & sell the products.
There are pictures in this thread:

Are you feeling any better today?

Those are really NICE designs, love 'em! You’re gifted

Thx for asking. This is the second day off methimazole and I feel pretty good. More relaxed, a bit more energy. I have another acupuncture session tomorrow. I set up 10 consecutive appointments for $200. $20 a pop is a whole lot cheaper than seeing my Endo. I have a co-pay of $65 now that he’s no longer in my network. Thank gawd it’s only twice a year. I’m determined when I see him in August my labs will be normal. Fingers/toes crossed.

Aww thanks

That’s good to hear.
I really hope the acupuncture works :crossed_fingers:for you.

Thought I would update as I just got felts from the Endo.
Thyroid levels are “picture perfect” and I’m to reduce antithyroid by 5mg/day (about a third).

Other symptoms still remain…. So going to see a dr about Menopause Hormone therapy as my symptoms align & Endo confirms Menopause.

I really am confused tho…, both Endos said being on the pill (continuous for Endometriosis) should negate any Meno symptoms.
But my symptoms have increased while on it plus increased more since coming off.
Maybe because they’re synthetic??

I really don’t know :woman_shrugging:

@muth how’re your levels doing now?

Thx for asking and I hope you get things sorted out with your symptoms. The last time I took hormones I was getting naturally occurring plant hormones from a Gyno named Dr. Schock, lol. She’s one of the doctors who pioneered natural hormone therapy. It was in a cream form that you rub into your skin.

Everything at my last Endo visit, August 23 was great, even my blood pressure and D3 and I’m not on BP medication. But there was an anomaly. My doc can’t understand why I went into a quick remission with all my levels normal except my TSI levels. They were pretty high. I feel fine though. Doesn’t seem to make sense, to me anyway. I do want to resume acupuncture because I really enjoyed it.

I’m hoping that is the answer.

I guess that all that really matters, I’m glad your feeling good :+1:

Thank you @Sevencasper I forgot to mention that my thyroid isn’t enlarged anymore. Probably the most important part, der!

I wish I could tell you more about the hormones but the reason I want to resume acupuncture is because it made such a quick difference in how I felt. It may not claim to cure Grave’s Disease but it does promise to put your body in homeostasis and, to me, that’s the key to all around health, a balanced system. Idk if acupuncture is something you’re interested in or is available to you but it certainly can’t hurt. I would look for a place that offers community acupuncture like the place I’m going to. Much more affordable.

Good luck and keep me updated :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

That’s great news too!

It’s funny how the disease manifests differently for everyone. My thyroid has never been physically inflamed or enlarged. Endo said it was “tiny” on first exam :woman_shrugging:

Saw GP yesterday & after some more tests, I will speak to the women health dr about MHT.
I am happy with that as previously I have been dismissed when suggesting my symptoms might be menopausal side effects.
Fingers crossed the tests come back as they should :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

Being dismissed is not uncommon. lol.
