Ill try a few drops of the nomz passion in one of the ones i already have mixed up later if i get chance, if not il will be in the morning, i cant wait to get my next order in so i can get stuck back in properly,lol. Theres only so far i can get with purilum dragonfruit & inw cactus,lol. Purilums tones right down after its been sat a week though, its like the brightness has kinda sunk into the recipe a little, its still there, very flavourful & pretty vibrant, but not like it was on day 1,2&3.
About 2 years ago i threw out a load of concentrates that i didnt like or use, around 290 flavours i threw out, it would be my luck to find out our missing mystery flavour i had actually threw out in that box. Because its definitely a flavour i have smelt/tasted before, its just hard to put your finger on because of everything thats going on alongside it.
Im still confident we will get there though, juat having to wait on flavour orders is slowing down progress, for me anyway.
Yes, that’s why we’re having trouble. Black vine is complex, it’s like you can pick out something different each taste. It makes it difficult to tell which flavour we’re missing.
Damn, tossing out 290 flavors is gnarly. There’s people out there that don’t even have that many flavors. I can’t imagine. FA passion would be the first one I tried, even though VTA yellow passion would be the one I would probably use.
Its just process of elimination really, its fun to be involved in, some fantastic recipes have already come from this project & we’re not even finished yet.
You are more than welcome to join in, you dont have to have the original eliquid to compare or anything, just see where we are going with it & adapt around the flavours you have in your stash, any ideas you may have/flavours that match our descriptions etc throw them out there, Nilburbudz doesnt have/never tried the original eliquid & he has been extremely helpful in making progress with the recipe & creating his own version (which DJ prefers over the original black vine),

That reminds me, Wasn’t it Speedee who said something about a dry feeling in the juice? This makes FA Passion Fruit make a little more sense.
Yes, it’s like a slight mouth drying effort. It’s not really wet. I can order some more flavours in a few days (fa) “passion fruit” I’ve added so thank you.
I’ve only got 49 flavours so far in my mixing journey and I have no blackcurrant or grape. Could basically do the rest though. I need to order a few bits and pieces in the next month or so and I definitely want to get the bits I need to try this. It sounds very much like my kind of flavour profile and I’m sure one of you will have come up with one that I’ll love.
I added 1.5% nomz passionfruit to my “black vine RMX 1.5” (which i had also added 0.75% inw cactus to) & the passionfruit does seem to have filled in the missing notes, pretty much all of them tbh (off the shake at least anyway, will see how it settles over the next few days), i think with FA passion though this could be the missing piece ?? Like a combination of INW dragonfruit + FA passion (without the cactus) ??? If its not the ‘exact’ ingredients i have a good feeling it will be extremely close, maybe even close enough that we might be able to call it the “clone” version?
Yes, that’s what I was thinking “without the cactus” there’s a slight dryness to “BV”. I’ve been focusing so much on the flavour that i had overlooked the dryness. I’m ordering some flavours in a few days. Need to add a few more to wishlist but the (fa) “passion fruit” is one of them.

On the “dryness” are you using supersweet in yours? I think the maltol in TFA seeetener kind of enhances that powdery texture you get from the vanilla swirl? Pushing FA forest fruits a little higher can also leave like a “gobstopper” kind of after taste, what % have you got the forest fruits at in yours?
The nomz passionfruit has really made a difference too, so i think with some % adjustments with these ingredients (fa passion + inw dragon), we should be able to get a pretty much identical recipe? Im hoping anyway but again, im judging by another brands version of a flavour so i could be way off the mark??

I’m using your v1.5 with the (cap) “blackcurrant”. Although I haven’t got the (cap) I think it would give the same flavour intensity as the OG. “FF” is at 5% at the moment but may need adjusting slightly. Yes, (tpa) “super sweet” fits the best. As you say we may need to alter the flavours slightly when we add the “passion fruit” but keep you fingers and toes crossed the (fa) is the correct flavour. I think it may be… brilliant (I’m happy). Not sure how much (fa) “passion fruit” to add yet. But I will when I get it. Recommended is 2%. Maybe 1.5.
I think (Nomz) are having some sort of dispute with “Klarna”. Tried to order flavours but “klarna” option not showing. (Tpa) and (fa) “passion fruit” are on my order.
Anyway can’t order for another week, when I get payed.

I have fa passion in my cart (well, Craft Flavour passionfruit), didnt add tfa though but i will now, judging by how nomz passion behaved in the remix recipe i do think it is passionfruit though? I just hope its FA passion, i will add TFA to the cart as well though just incase. I could be wrong though & it could be one of the other “custard apppes” or whatever their correct name is,lol, i dont have much experience with these tropical type flavours, now if it were a raspberry i would probably be able to pick it out just by smelling it but tropicals i have no idea, like i said before, back to “noob mode”

ATM i am using purilum dragonfruit + nomz SC passionfruit in place of the INW + FA to try balance the rest of the recipe. It still may not be where it needs to be though?
Note that this specific variation with FA passion has not been mixed/tested yet, so it will likely still need tweaking?
Yes that happened to me around 3 weeks ago when I tried to put an order through, thought it was my Klarna at first but was being offered Klarna everywhere else, of course the problem is Nomz seems to be the most convenient for most things.
The (tpa) “passion fruit” is a really interesting flavour. Don’t know whether you’ve tried (wf) “hibiscus candy” but it tastes similar but with a honey note. It’s the perfect “Pf” for mixing with tea flavours.
The (fa) “passion fruit” fits really well. I added 1% with 1% “Dragon fruit” and the tropical part is not quite as strong as the OG. I’m thinking maybe 1.25% of both flavours and lower the sweetness by 0.5%.
(Nomz) didn’t have (cap) “blackcurrant” so I’m having to add more (fa) to compensate.
It’s definitely a lot better with the 7% “FF”.
I’m looking forward to when you get your flavours because I know how methodically you mix and would like your opinion.
I’ve only just mixed the recipe so need to see how it tastes after a steep. I’m going to do a 5 mil mix and try the (tpa) “Pf” so we can rule it out. I’m definitely using it in my tea recipe though.
There’s probably a good chance it isn’t in this anyway, it’s just something I thought was in there based off the smell and knuckle test when mixing the two BC’s together but was never completely 100% about it, in fact I think my mind is playing tricks on me, and looking for something that isn’t there. I don’t think Eddie1z is sold either.
It’s in the above recipe, but it tastes ok with just the (fa).
After making a quarter liter of my Midnight Vine to make it last a week I found that I wanted to tweak the recipe a bit by adding .05% to both DF once it had a week of steep. So, if you think it needed more off the shake I’d think it would only be exacerbated after some steep time.
Thank you. I’m tasting what I’ve just mixed with unsteeped “BV” to compare. It’s almost identical. I’m going to taste again when my pallets a bit fresher . I think the best thing to do is let this steep and then compare it all ready steeped “BV”.
I should be ordering my flavours this week, hopefully thursday, its nice you can rule some out for me though, i can cut back my cart a little now😅.
Im not 100% on the blackcurrants yet either tbh, its really hard to tell, so hard infact that i would say even if the cap was in there it wouldnt really matter much to the recipe if you just left it out & push an extra 0.5% onto FA blackcurrant? Once i have the tropical part closer i will mess more with the blackcurrants & %'s, because with the flavours i have used in place the recipe doesnt taste far off at all, well, as close as i imagine it could taste using flavours i know arent in there, lol. I havent made any more adjustments to mine yet though mainly because i really dont think the “dark” section is far off at all? Once we have this tropical section down we will see if it needs any tweaking.
