Since I’m allergic to Cotton, I’ve been looking for alternatives. Today I’ve tried tissue from tissue box. No initial taste unlike Cotton, good wicking, no burning, good flavor, no allergies so far (two hours vaping so far).
But it’s a tissue, might have some glue or chemicals… I have no clue. What are your thoughts, ever tied it?

Save the tissue for your nose! No telling what kind of chemicals are used to process the stuff. 
What Jim said. I’m guessing you’ve tried rayon (basically what Jim posted) and hemp? Those are the two main alternatives. I’ve also heard of people using boiled un-dyed bamboo yarn.
Try rayon - it’s basically paper in fiber form…
