Tools, supplies and stuff

honestly if someone was offering to buy me diy supplies for xmas or whatever, my choices would be… even more flavours… In BIG bottles, lol. Other than that it would be vg/pg/nic etc… Unless theres a new mod or rda thats took your fancy? It sounds like you have pretty much most stuff covered, so it would only be logical to stock up on the consumable/dispersable items?

Oh & the label printer is a solid idea, i have one & they’re great for lots of other things aside from mixing, so a multi-purpose thing, the labels are waterproof/scratch resistant etc so they dont fall/peel off after a wash, unless you actually pick it off.
& i must admit, big_vapes way of labeling is genius, the ammount of labels i have wasted labeling 10/30ml mixes to only have to peel it off a week later is ridiculous, lol, im going to start numbering my smaller testers now & just writing down whats in the number, keep the printer for my bigger ADV bottles.

Get 0.001g scale too. It costs nothing (5 pounds or less) and you’ll be pleased to have it. Eventually you will throw your 501 in the closet and forget about it.

@Oldguynew2diy those are the only scales (except for my LB-1000), that I use.

No , Not necessary

Dont need this just get the wide mouth chubby gorilla bottles and mix right into it

One thing I find most handy - even if I’m not a particularly well versed DIY mixer - is a decent lable maker, such as those already linked to above.

PRIOR to mixing, I lable each bottle with the flavour it will contain. I try to remember to include the mix ratio on that lable so, in time, I can remember what ratios I used, so I can duplicate it if I like it, or change it if I don’t.

I also lable each atty with the flavour running in it. I find it invaluable.

That scale is the first thing I bought. Figured I’d definitely need one. Have a dew bottles, right now only 6. But definitely need more.

Have to look into that scale.

Definitely looks easier than a sharpie.

The consumables are definitely a good idea. I just figured she was/seems to be on-board…sooo, the cool stuff. Already she has been asking if i could try to make this and that flavors…i just smile and say sure…gonna need these flavors.

The mixer was more for the mixing and getting it mixed well, not so much the steeping side of it. But…if they don’t work not much point.

Nice list there. Why the glass bottles for the nic?

I keep all my nic in amber glass bottles. Right now I’m using five year old nic broken down into 30ml bottles kept in the freezer. Nic is broken down from liter bottle.
I normally mix nothing larger than 60mls at a time and rotate about 30+ mixed flavors that take me about two months to get through a 60ml.
Haven’t gotten vaper’s tongue in over two years.

@Oldguynew2diy glass is the LEAST reactive, and permeable so you can keep your NIC as fresh as possible in the freezer. Also with the Wheaton bottles, they have very solid conical seals, so once they’re tight, they’re tight.

Storing NIC in any plastic bottles for extended times is not good. Because base NIC is strong, it can attack the plastic material, there can be leeching, air penetration, and poor caps will add to the issues of oxidizing your NIC.

@Oldguynew2diy all of the above And a mixing book to write all those recipes and tasting notes everything on paper ,never lost. Then you need a dedicated mix area never torn down or packed away always available and you’ll be happy forever

That’s the best @rcleven. Good stuff bro

Yep, I used a few things over the years and finally landed on tape, a sharpie and a numbering system. Only my 180 ml mixes are named. It’s so much easier.

My 501 is 7 years old and survived my son’s school experiments. Got a spare as well. I’m sure most of us old timers have spares of everything.
