Hi, I’ve not long had this and been really pleased with the performance, except for: last couple of days when I change over batteries one side is showing approx 25-30%. Same if I flip the batteries and the same with different batteries(which incidentally are fine in a different device). It did this when I first got it but settled and worked fine till now. I’ve given it a good clean, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, really hoping there’s a workaround. Thanks for this x

When you change batteries, try inserting one battery first then hit the fire button a few times before inserting the second battery

If its always the same battery indicator on the topsides display, then its likely that one of the connectors is making a stronger connection than the other, have you checked all the battery contacts on the device? Make sure there is no juice or anything on any of the connectors/terminals, give them a wipe over with some tissue, to get to the ones right up inside stuff some tissue up there & use some tweezers to twist the tissue around right up inside both battery sleds, wipe all the bottom contacts over then try again.
If its still reading a little off check the battery door is perfectly level/sealed on both sides, make sure one side is not sagging or a little looser than the other, in other words just make sure theres no gap around where the battery door closes against the body. If everything appears normal/solid & the mod is functioning well with no noticable battery/voltage sag then maybe its just a small issue with the calibration for battery readings on the chip? Which if its functioning as intended it shouldnt be a problem at all & i wouldnt worry. The topside dual is a solid mod.

I’ve had 4 of these. Loved the mod until they didn’t work anymore because the battery doors on all 4 broke. I was getting inaccurate battery readings and it never affected me, but I realized it must have been from the batt doors becoming loose which eventually led to the hinges breaking.

Thanks for these, on being really careful there are split seconds when both batteries are recognised as fully charged, so the connection must be there at least for that split second. Even not moving anything the connection seems to drop. The battery door is a fiddle, always was, I’ve tried tightening the door to see if that helps. For sure it lines up, momentarily seems fine and then the connection drops. I live in Scotland, generally wet and rainy and wonder if the humidity is impacting idk, I’ve really carefully dried with a cotton bud, maybe I’m overthinking it, it does still work. I’m going to leave it next to the dehumidifier and have another go later. Thanks again, I really appreciate your help xx

Did you get the newest version? I thought I read something that the fixed the battery door issue. Those seem really expensive to fail like that. What a pain in the ass! If you can still send it back maybe that would be the best route. It’s clearly got some type of defect.

Yeah the battery doors on the older models were not so sturdy, the v4 however has been solid for me & a few others i know that have them,& i have dropped mine quite a few times, heck even if my battery door did break i would elastic band or even duct tape that sucker before retiring it,lol, but i have known people with the older models add a screw in section to the bottom. Or theres even a little 3d printed base clip thing you attach to the bottom, it just clips into place & holds the bottom on tightly.
If you’re in scotland i take it you do have the v4 because both of the most popular uk sites have had the v4’s in lately, although everywhere is out of stock again right now.
& for anyone with topside duals laying around that have broken battery doors, this may come in handy -

Edit - @Lynda_Marie - if you can get hold of CJ maybe he would print you a few of these to get your topsides back up & running? Or anyone with a 3d printer, i believe some websites even offer a printing service too?

Thanks again, the add on’s look really interesting, thanks for this, I’m not sure it’s the door though, it’s not like the reading changes when I reduce the pressure, I wonder if it’s the chip.
Yes it’s v4, kinda hoped I’d get more than a few months before an issue. I’m not sure about investing in another, I’m going to try not sure what but I do not want to accept qc can be that poor…real shame, I definitely liked it a lot…hopefully be able to still use it while I ponder. Thanks again, I really find the range of support and suggestions here so helpful and I do recommend the site to other vapers I know xx

I would definitely carry on using it, if theres no voltage sag etc i wouldnt even worry about it tbh, you would notice any sag/dropping straight away, it might just be a calibration issue with the battery reading? It doesnt really sound like a connection issue to me from what you describe?
You should reach out to dovpo, send them a video of the issue happening making sure its easily visible etc along with a description of the problem, also put a photo/copy of the receipt in the same email too, where & when you purchased etc & they should help you out? Its better to put all vids/pics/info etc in the first email because they will only respond asking for it anyway, saves waiting again for another response. I know a guy that had issues with his odin v2 fire button sticking a while ago, he contacted dovpo & they sent him a new odin out & let him keep the old one, not only once, 2 or 3 times it happened regarding the same initial purchase & each time theh sent a new mod, so he ended up with 3 or 4 odin v2 mods, all still working because he actually flipped the bit of plastic undernieth the fire button & it fixed the sticky button issue with the other mods. Hopefully they do the same/similar with you?
