The Birth of Toxic Tardy Cherry: A Chewy Cherry Spree
When I set out to mix this profile, I wanted a standalone cherry juice that didn’t mess around—something thick, upfront, and aggressively sweet. I started by locking in Sobucky Super Aromas (SSA) Juicy Cherries at a full 4.0% to push the flavor ceiling right to the edge, backing it up with Purilum Super Sweet to lay down a heavy commercial sugar baseline.
But out of the gate, it wasn’t hitting quite right. The cherry was there, but it lacked that sharp, punchy attitude. It needed a bite.
To fix it, I threw down an exact 1.0% add-on of TFA Sweet and Tart (12 drops) to inject a sour candy crunch, and spiked it with a tiny 0.25% dose of ultra-concentrated Flavorah Sweetness (3 drops) to lock in a granulated sugar finish.
The result? Absolute magic. The recipe completely transformed away from a basic fruit liquid into a dead-on Chewy Cherry Spree. You get that distinct, bold, artificial cherry core wrapped up in a sharp, chalky candy shell that melts into a deep, heavy, mouth-watering chew on the exhale.
As for the name, Toxic Tardy Cherry isn’t about being late—the “Tardy” is a play on its intense Tarty nature. It’s an aggressive, mouth-puckering slap of sour candy chaos balanced out by a killer dose of sweetness, mixed heavy at 75VG for thick, dense clouds. It’s sweet, it’s sour, and it completely dominates the tank.
