What I have identified:
Two that are obvious, used some but not that much considering
fig
ginger
Nearly invisible:
date
poppy seeds
orange blossom
chestnut
bitter almond
I have experimented a bit with the top two, and am planning on getting the bottom 5 as well as a few more obscure herbals (genepi, myrte, verbena, lime tree) and also prune.
I have 3 gingers that are a bit disappointing but just received FLV today, which has better reviews (The only one that seems to get stellar reviews is NF, probably due to HIC welcome obsession with the stuff)
I also got Fig FLV today in the post, and I am looking forward to checking it out, Fig Fresh (FA) is somewhat a bit too discrete.
Basil and cucumber are definitely making it up an order at some point. Maybe from FAUK when they get the new flavours and I decide to give them a shot.
Is there even a vapable tomato concentrate around ? #
Garlic is a dangerous one, naturally garlic before it is grilled has a lot of not very nice volatiles, try sniffing a box of garlic paste. Grilled garlic could be fun but I don’t see that much potential.
Nutmeg available from solubarome, could do a “cream/milk + yam/taro + nutmeg + black pepper” but I am not sure whether I want to vape Gratin Dauphinois, as good as it smells in real life.
Cloves are pretty common in tobacco products. Cardamon I already use; it is a good one and I need to give it more attention.
One of my best (actual) sorbet recipe is ripe mango and cardamom, and the cardamom is very prominent. I am sure it would work as a liquid as well.
All in for the cuke vapes but no room in the cart this time. I had the pleasure of trying this, nice and wet vape @therabidweasel Did u private v1? I have seen other mixes w/ it in and forgive me guys who i forgot.
Jworm I’m the world’s worst on versions. In reality that recipe is probably no earlier than v8. I rarely increment a title but I change and replace components that dont jive with what I am shooting for every time I mix. My v2s are typically my first acceptable mix, the others I dont write down. This v2 has been modified a few times. It’s more cuke heavy, but still a crowd pleaser. The ratio on the cuke flavor isn’t right and my next mix will cut the RF SC in half. It’s a good flavor, but shifts the mix away from the meat of the cucumber and toward the rind. WOT!
Dude. Fig fresh is a badass flavor…but people dont use it heavy because its dammed expensive. I think if you overdrive that flavor, fig will explode in your mouth the same way eating a fresh fig does. It’s an expensive fruit in vape and IRL. Can you try it in your mix at a % like in one in a vape that kinda blows my mind below? Great with or without the rich cinnamon. If you use the cinnamon, use no more than listed. Cheers
I’ve been looking at the fresh fig (fa) but I’m reading comments that it’s not really a true fig flavor. Not that it’s bad, but just misrepresented by its name.
What’s your take on this? Are there more realistic fresh figs out there?
What I feel is that I have not managed to make fig fresh fa the centrepiece of a recipe. Might be my batch, my taste buds or the flavour which is just so.
I am waiting for a bunch of receipes to steep to see if I get any luck.
Need to experiment with flavorah fig soon as well, which smells a lot more figey but also a bit smokey.
Will try to see what solubarome is like in the next month or so. I have run out of storage space
I eat fresh figs fairly often and pick them myself once a year. FA tastes real to me, as I mix it, in my gear and for my builds.
Fig is not a strong flavor and, in my experience sharing the fresh fruit, some people dont get or dont care for its subtleties. IMHO Fig Fresh (FA) is pretty close to spot on.
Thanks. I don’t grow my own figs but it’s one of the few fruits that I find really satisfying… when we have them at home, they usually don’t survive the first day.
I’ll put it on my shopping list and give it a try.
