Under burning a coil

What happens when you underburn a coil thats premade like innokin tank coil my friend
Cant stop coughing at proper temp but not lower

By under burning a new coil needs to be heated to a temperature to burn off oils and other products the coil is shipped with.
If you mean to heat the coil at less than suggested temperature range nothing will happen. I often vape below suggested temperature range. I have thought about it too. I find oftentimes , find that ohms may be read the same mod amps may be different. 40 watts on one may

I’d always recommend vaping at a lower end of the recommended wattage. I threw a coil in my Ursa today and recommended wattage is 70-90… I’m at 56 and getting a nice enjoyable vape. If I was ripping at 90 watts the coil would be toast in a few days. Depending on the ohms… you at least need to have it high enough to heat up.

Though I only use rebuildables now, I usually use a lower wattage and try to keep the volts (my mods also show voltage when in wattage mode) between 3.3 and 3.7 on most mixes. This helps the coils last longer and also seems to work better for custards and most bakeries for me.

I’ve never found a premade coil head to perform well at it’s highest recommended wattage. The vape is usually harsh or borderline harsh. I’m usually at 10 - 20 watts under maximum wattage recommended. Just vape it at the level you’re comfortable with and you’ll be fine.

Off topic just a bit, but what is the advantage of vaping with wattage like that? Clouds? I once tried regular A1 at 75W and it was just way too much.

Pussy, you’re a pussy

Nah, I vape around 30-40… Not a cloud comp wizard. it’s passe.

If you say, “vaping at 100watts with a dual coil” you’ve got yourself a hearty tongue… People that claim they can taste a juice better at incredibly high watts are just trying to prove something, imho.

I get the “notes” that people claim to get from much lower wattage, maybe it’s because I’m not vaporizing it into oblivion? Just me. Know my opinion is unpopular around you folks.

Well then sometimes we think alike because I’m with ya. I’ve rarely gone past 55w…52w with mesh. I shoot for flavor but if it chucks as well, I won’t complain.

You folks?? Where?

A few years back ,at the shows, they ran cloud competitions. My guess is the industry loved the competitions and started marketing to it.
All I taste at high wattage is burnt juice.

Same. And those competitors firing up unregulated tube mods. Fun to watch.

Weird. Most people just have porn fantasies.

Well, I would never on a stock coil, but in my larger rta’s and RDA’s that wattage is used to ramp up the coils. Also some liquids are tastier at higher wattages. I don’t normally vape over 120, my usual is 50-80 on a normal day unless I’m using the Ragnar or a voltrove with fancier coils that need the heat.

Late to this string, I pretty much only use rebuildable attys and have found like others a personal sweet spot at somewhere between 3.5-4.2 volts (generally <4v {not a mech user either}), with a caveat that this applies to less complicated simple round wire and regular & fused Clapton coils made of Ni80 or SS. With Kanthal, the applied watage/voltage dramatically is increased to find the ramp and temp I like to vape. Some complex FeCr coils require a bunch of current to work. All said, I don’t think I have ever had a pleasant vape that requires in excess of say 95 watts or >6 volts.

Guess I’m in the flea power MTL camp. Normally 9.5 watts (simple round Kanthal). Occasionally I like to venture into the fast lane, and live dangerously at 11 watts.

Hey, you have some company here. Right now I’m vaping on two KFs, one at 12W and the other at 14W. Am I too high?

You’re never too high. 'Cept when the room starts spinning.
