Useless flavors?!

Assalamualaikum! I lived in Al Ain and also left in 2020.

I started vaping in 2016 when it was banned to import vaping stuff. I got around the flavor issue easily.

I’d go to the post office and then customs would open the package in front of me. It was always local ladies, btw. They would always ask what they were. I always told them the truth, that they were food flavorings.

The first few times I opened a couple of bottles that I knew smelled like the name such as lemon or strawberry. I’d tell them to sniff it and they always did and a look of recognition would appear. A couple of times I’d put a drop on my knuckle and lick it. Then I’d offer it to them. They’d never do that. But then they’d close the package and say "khalas’.

I was asked a few times what I did with them and I told them my wife taught cooking classes to her friends. They liked hearing that.

So, you can try the same. The truth is they are food flavors. Now, I don’t know about Tunisian law but in the UAE if something was haram they’d just confiscate it which they did to a few mods. Maybe they’ll do the same there.

In forums with a focus on the discussion of DIY e-liquid, you probably won’t. Information on third world governments and dictators is better suited for websites that cater to that platform. Not that it should be condoned but you can try your luck on the Dark Web.

dear kc I’m from Tunisia, it’s the furthest point north of Africa on the Mediterranean sea, we belong to the Arabic islamic world, north African countries are much different from middle and south African countries, we might’ve suffered some similar issues like poverty dictatorship and oppression but each in a different way so to be honest with you I have no information what so ever about these African countries but if you’re interested to know about Tunisia you can ask anything you want I’ll tell you everything you want to know

I really liked your story, it’s cleaver too how you got the flavorings in and your conversation with the customs ladies… but that was UAE and used to live there until September 2020 I know everything about that government and those people and believe me when I tell you it’s completely different here, our customs people and border/airport police are much smarter and slicker than UAE police, those people don’t know the real shit of life, they’re born and raised in cotton and they’re not educated at all they recrute ignorant locals then they make them do training about the specific single task that they will do and that’s it they start their job, they never think outside the box… so it’s easy to trick them but here they will just look at you and they will know it all, you won’t be able to get a pinch of flavoring without them catching you and in that case you there are 2 probabilities, either he’s a corrupt cop and you will have the option to pay him and slide away or he can be an honorable cop and he will confiscate it, bottom line: sooo much bullshit for just some vaping supply, yep it’s a messed up life in a messed up country

It is my opinion that you should practice what you preach. Lord knows I’ve seen you and many others, including myself, veer off topic on a completely unrelated thread and NO ONE cares, it is all part of a discussion.
I never realized asking someone from Africa the current status of their cultural climate, or a topic such as safari hunting, would create such disparaging comments in response or create animosity. That was NOT my intent. I didn’t see the harm in inquiring about such matters, seeing as this forum has a wide range of topics open to discussion, from jokes & memes to what we are watching or listening to on t.v. or radio to everything flavors and mods to coronavirus. Again, I was just trying to learn more info and I thought asking someone from a particular country would be more useful than creating my own thread to ask the same question.
I will call out hypocrisy if and when I see it.

Yeah, I agree @KC111 didn’t seem inappropriate to me either. Clear, simple, to the point question/post. The fact the ELR clearly DOES have members from ALL over the world, it seems like the BEST place to ask, and get an answer from someone who actually LIVES there, or KNOWS.

I don’t live in Africa, nor have I ever been there, so I can’t answer LOL.

Anyone / everyone who knows me here should know how I roll. I TOO have had my fair share of haters (YES, it actually have had to deal with this), and/or post flaggers. Because @fidalgo_vapes clearly stated, “Flagged by ONE member”, then we can start to see more clearly, that the entirety of ELR is not against the post, posts, and/or questions about hunting in Africa.
