USPS, FedEx, DHL & UPS (!) Vape Mail Ban, incoming late March/ April 2021: Discussion, Updates, Info, Venting, Emotional Support

And to go with the pasta: warm milk with 4 drops of Warm Custard and 3 drops of Sweet Honey.

Found out weeks ago, that these dessert/creamy flavours are excellent additives to real food, or at least real milk but you can bet your arse if I were making a real fruit salad, smoothy or even an apple pie, I’d be adding a few drops of artificial fruit flavours to crank that flavour through the roof with just a few simple drips.

Super high return on the minimal effort required to walk to the vape cupboard and pick whayever flavours I want :+1:

Sounds a lot like Ethyl Maltol.

Same…

Same…

Same…

I don’t remember if it’s already been confirmed or not, but I would check the forums to see if it’s the same thing.

No sense paying the “FA markup” when EM is a lot cheaper (if it is apples to apples).

That’s partly why I asked what’s in it and how it works: if it’s just another easily accessible chemical or a few chemicals, I’d rather know and - as per your example - just buy EM instead.

Also of course, an additive that claims it can improve a persons juices with just a few drops sounds slightly snake-oil like so knowing how it’s working might remove that suspicion as to it’s efficacy for me.

It’s all about the money. They could care less about your health. And this crap about saving the children, pure garbage. The one and only reason for this ban is this. All states are losing multi millions in tax dollars from smokers turned vapers. Big tobacco has millionaire lobbyist working for them to ban the vaping business. A win win for the state governments and big tobacco. They know most will go back to smoking.

Don’t feel bad. Here in Colorado they just approved a 40% tax on ALL smoking products, including vape.

Which begs the question. What do States care where the tax revenue comes from. Cigs, vapes ?? Just tax the vape, and in comes the cash, right ??

Ohhhh, THAT’S right…

It went from $6.40 to $10 a pack. But I’ve been mixing now for 5 years.

$26.71 USD for a pack of Marlboro Red 20’s in New Zealand (as of 1st March 2021) :open_mouth:
Glad I’m not a smoker!!!

ok. but lets get a little perspective on that.

how much is minimum wage there ? what does a house, 1200sf 3 bedroom house sell for ?

my point, $26.71 USD is a lot, here. but if an “ok” (not good but not bad) take home pay is $1200 a week, that $26.71 USD equals about the same as $10 a pack here.

This. Also part of the diabolical plan, the children they claim to be saving will all be 18 by the time enforcement goes into effect. They were around for the big vaping boom and they will be the new tobacco revenue crutch. I’m sure they will continue to transition the original vape industry to big tobacco and tax the crap out of it to continue the reparations money’s. They will alternate traditional cigarettes and vape
Ing in years to come, in order to ensure sustained user base at the same time moving the focus around to keep both big tobacco products going.

Am I right?

In 2019 the minimum hourly rate was $18.90 ($13.68 USD) and the median hourly rate was $27.00 ($19.54 USD). That is definitely higher than the $7.25 min US wage and the $15.35 median hourly rate.
Our median house price is $730,000 (as of Dec 2020), and new cars approx 25% dearer taking into exchange rate.

as i thought, stuff costs about the same.

oh, except for the houses = far more expensive there.

Around $31.01 USD as an average in Aus presently for 20’s of any brand. Probably going up this month but not sure as I don’t know any smokers…

When I quit smoking in 2016 in the UAE, all major brands were $2.70 per pack. Given my high costs for PG & VG I wasn’t saving much at all. A year later, the govt doubled the price to $5.80. Perversely, I felt good about that.

It sucks that vape and other not medical NRT’s were included in this. I believe it is a result of media portrayal of vaping being the equivalent to smoking with regard to health risks. When it was put to a vote last November, almost 70% of Coloradans voted for the tax increase.

Here is an article that explains some of the specifics: Colorado voters approve higher taxes on cigarettes and tobacco products - Avalara

A couple of weeks ago I bought a cigarettes for a friend. The first pack I’ve bought since vaping and quitting smoking over 7 years ago. I was shocked that it was just under $19 for 2 packs. So taxes in cigarettes will be going up. It is a shame that we vapers are being lumped in with smokers with regard to the various “tobacco product” tax increases. Sucks big.

DHL doesn’t do much US to US vape deliveries so they easily comply. I order almost everything from overseas and DHL is in my driveway frequently. If you’re ordering from abroad DHL isn’t going to care. Sure if you try to large order or bulk liquids these might randomly get caught but all of my flavored anal lube oils, which is clearly marked, should remain to come as usual.
