My order from HiLiq in China came via DHL. It was comparatively expensive but it’s also top quality so, imo, worth it.
Just got off the phone with a gentleman from dicodes-usa about a tank I purchased. He said orders are through the roof but what he did say that was encouraging is that there are many other couriers in the US beyond the big 3
-4 that will ship all through the US for us after the ban. He said he has no doubts that we will be in good shape.
Take that with a grain of salt but there may be a glimmer of hope if the companies can figure out workarounds. And it would be good for the economy to have more funds go to the little guys instead of these big shipping behemoths that can’t seem to get their heads out of their backsides.
You know. Uber or Lyft could create a small package delivery network. Not sure of all the pro’s and con’s but its a thought.
I’ve personally ordered many times/things from China. I have never had a DHL delivery, they are often utilized by foreign venders for overseas transit and then once received in the USA are released to a domestic carrier for “last mile delivery”. My understanding is that they only actually do “to door” delivery of commercial shipments here. I’m sure there are some exceptions, but with regard to delivery of say a liter of nicotine, I’m fairly confident that DHL is not equipped to scale within their infrastructure.
I’m in GA and it was DHL that delivered a liter of nic into my hand. When I was in the UAE I’d get a message from DHL telling me to come to their location to pick up the package. They could do that here as well.
DHL is getting back into parcel last-mile delivery, but with a twist - FreightWaves. Granted, this article is from 2008, the new law is going to make new (or otherwise narrow) residential delivery (of vapor products) difficult if not unprofitable for implementation.
Problem is, regardless how loud we voice our cause, only 20-25% of the US population smoke or vape. That means that 75-80% of the population don’t know/don’t care or are completely indifferent to the needs and or rights of smokers/vapers. As far as they are concerned smoking or vaping should just be banned - they have no interest in how that is accomplished.
First there was Uber, then Uber Eats… now Uber Vapes
yeah = heres your $30 atty and $40 mod. that will be $800
plus tip…
this is about money/tax’s. they don’t care what anyone thinks.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see if HiLiq remains a viable option after the USPS ban kicks in. As of today they are stating that DHL is doing the transport/shipping, although I have a feeling they are not the last mile delivery method as of now. As it is the shipping charge is hardly inexpensive yet not quite prohibitive. Here is a quote from them today on 1 liter of 10% freebase nicotine & shipping charges to Florida:
I just reached out to a couple shops in my area and one told me that carrying base is something they would consider. I’m going to call back tomorrow and speak with the owner/buyer. Considering there are only really a handful of suppliers, it seems like a no brainer. If there is demand on the local level, it is possibly we can get B&M’s to stock DIY base.
That would be great to see . The problem is shipping though and since Fed Ex and UPS decided to NOT ship anything vape related at all who ships it ? The expense of all the hoops suppliers and shippers have to go through doesnt make sense for a business …
My understanding of the new “law” is that residential retail delivery is not going to be permitted, There is nothing in it prohibiting B-B shipment?
Your correct BUT Fed Ex and UPS have decided they would not ship B2B or B2C …
Then perhaps the postal system or if not - DHL does ship B-B.
How are B&M’s going to get commercial e-liquid delivery then? Following your thought - the entirety of vaping is the USA will be effectively banned next month?
USPS ships 48mgml and under I believe however knowone knows exactly how they are going tona. Approach this they jave until the end of April to figure things out …DHL I believe only delivers locally to certain areas but DHL has always had a NO tobacco stance
It’s not just nicotine - hardware is included in the “law” too - total cluster…
