So, first Fasttech order (shipped via ePacket) arrived today. I got some vertical OCCs, an RBA with the big holes, and a topfill tank (more on that in a min) for my Subtank mini and some Ti wire in anticipation of the eVic VTC mini that is supposed to be on its way to me. I don’t know what my malfunction was when I was ordering cuz I got the 1.2 ohm coils instead of the 0.5. The draw is super tight even with the AFC wide open. I may have to tear into one and see if I can rebuild it. I haven’t tried the RBA yet. That’s on my weekend list of things to fiddle with.
The top-fill tank is a little disappointing. A) It doesn’t come with a base, which would be okay if it weren’t for the fact that B) it doesn’t screw in to the clone bases that FT sells. Being that it’s not an ‘authentic’ thing, you’d think that it would fit the clones. The threads are kind of jacked, but it screws in ‘ok’ to the authentic base. Also, some metal shavings under the fill hole o-rings, and it had a small chip in the glass…but that may have been my fault when I was washing it. Still, I wouldn’t think it should chip that easily. I suppose I could use my spare original glass, but I’m ok with it for now. Until it explodes on me or something. It fills pretty well as long as you have those tiny tipped bottles or I guess you use a syringe to fill. For a $7 ‘clone’ I guess I can’t say I’m too terribly surprised it has some flaws. Seems to work okay though, so I guess that’s good. No leaking or anything…yet. I’ll probably buy another one with my next order just to make sure it doesn’t fit the bases and it’s not just this one that I got.
I hope you opened a ticket with them they will prob send the rt coils if you send a pic as well as a new glass section… bummer remember I asked you about the top fill? should I get one or not wdyt?
Not gonna bother with a ticket. It was my fault—I ordered the 1.2. I checked to make sure cuz I thought surely it was a mistake. Nope. I’m just an idiot. As for the glass, I dunno. Not really worth it for that. If you grab a top-fill, just make sure you have an authentic base for it in case it doesn’t fit the clone bases. I like it and I think I’m gonna love it for filling when I’m out and about. So it’s up to you if you wanna take the $7 risk that it’s not gonna fit what you have.
I have three top fills for my orchids/kafun/silverplay… I wonder if it’s the same hmm I’ll check but for the glass it’s only a matter of a pic and a long wait why just settle they make a mint off people who "don’t bother "following up on damaged good I bet…
We just got it last night and it is big, ,but loving it so far. The major plus to it is it comes with 2 different coils and 1 to single wrap build if you like that better. You also have the option of buying a dual coil diy .only 1 day in but no complaints yet
got my cthuhlu clone from FT yesterday and I was impressed with the performance. Good flavor/vapor. Very nice. Where I was VERY disappointed was in the quality of the machining. The threading is garbage. It took several careful attempts to get the parts to fit (but they did), and when I went to rewick it in order to get a a clean start with a different juice, I could not take the top chimney portion off the dang barrel. Still can’t.
Any ideas on how to take it apart without resorting to damaging it with pliers?
Even on the authentic this was a problem. I had to put a rubber band on the metal and then use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove to top cap. Then I proceeded to take a Dremel tool with a cut off wheel and carefully cut notches in the top cap for griping purposes. It was a pain, but it worked.
That’s a great idea! I’ll do that with mine as well. Just gotta figure out how to get that little barrel off. It’s the part that covers the coils and wick. It’s locked onto the slim chimney piece. Tried using a piece of rubber belt and pliers but it’s locked in tight.
I understand what your talking about now! Yes…mine was the same way as well. It can be done. Perhaps stick it in the freezer a bit to see if the metal and o ring will contract a bit? Then give it another go.

My first bottle order was on Amazon, but don’t remember who the actual vendor was. 4 out of 12 of 1 oz bottles were broken, or had ‘stars’ on them, from banging together. I decided to look elsewhere this time around. Very happy with the purchase.
