Yup, that looks more like it, with the RBA section that could well replace my herakles RTA-2. \one thing I don’t really like about the baby beast is the fill hole. Why so tight??

Off to order all the menthols for my Pegacorn Peppermint mix. I don’t vape it personally, but some friends are mad for it.

It is, I adapted it from a kringle’s Kurse clone The friends that requested it wanted stronger menthol than the original, so I adjuested it to their taste. But at it’s heart, it is indeed a KK clone - well spotted they were hooked on the Halo original but fed up paying so much for it, so asked if I could clone it. I don’t generally mix or vape menthol so went a searchin’ - they say it is MUCH better than the original, so I gotta be happy with that. they come back for more every month They pay for the ingredients, bottles etc and a little extra for my work. Enough for me to get some DIY supplies for my own mixes really. Good enough.

Ok… Now I’m starting to grow a little concerned about the Cuboid 150w.

Twice now in a very short time frame, this device has failed. Firing at no more than 7-12w. Last night being the second failure.

So far, both times I’ve been able to “recover it” to a functional state by reflashing it (and I’ve been using different firmware each time to see if it’s the firmware or hardware, or both, or…). To this point IIRC, I’ve run three different firmware (the original 3.00, 3.03, and 3.01), the 3.03 for the majority of the time between fails. And currently on 3.01.

I also briefly loaded up 5.04, but that new interface is completely retarded IMO as it’s WAY TOO MUCH info in way too small of a space. It’s literally almost unreadable to these 46 year old eyes even with 20/20 vision.

I also had one point during flashing, where the unit went completely unresponsive. No display, no power, nothing. PC wouldn’t see it (firmware), but through ‘dumb luck’, I clicked the “update” button anyways (even though the firmware would not ID the device, or the firmware on it) and the flash still pushed through fortunately. So in that sense, it almost seems like the EScribe software, and it’s a forced overwrite (which is a good thing). Again, this is only anecdotal evidence at best though, so caveat emptor!

At any rate, I have to caution anyone considering this to be prepared for the possibility of dealing with some minor issues. It’s still functional, but I would not at this point consider it to be reliable for daily carry without having a backup close at hand. Especially considering that it’s only been roughly two weeks since the first failure. For well over a month though, it was “hog heaven”, and I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt and remain optimistic (hence my glowing review above). Until last night. Now, I’m “on guard”, and considering returning to my VT133 for daily duty. I really don’t like the idea of carrying that one out of the house though. (it’s my baby lol)

Try 3.14 It has the old GUI but includes pre-heat

Also could be loose juice… I know this may sound unpopular, but wipe off the bottom with a damp towel, and keep the towel handy. [coough] Put it in your mouth (just the bottom!) and blow HARD. You will likely find juice coming out of your USB port and buttons… wipe and repeat. BTW this works on most Mods, is likely unsafe …and never listen to my advice …after all i am Unregulated

You got a faulty unit by the sounds of it. The Cuboid I had never gave me any hassles. Only reason i sold it recently was because I liked the look of the Alien so much, I just had to have one! But the Cuboid served me well when I used it. I just updated it one time, so whatever the upgrade was that gave it 200w the first time.

Please, until you get familiar with it (them). keep the bottle over half full, pull the topcap off and watch as you gently squonk it. Push in on the bottle side, less than 1/3 of the way, and hold…do NOT pump it. [in/out…in/out…]

You’re gonna love that Wild Raspberry. I think it’s the 5th raspberry I purchased and it blows the others out of the water. Keep your usage under 1% SF, and as a mixer .3-.6% will suffice for most mixes.

I guess … if you like them … I never did. If they had been that price, back then, maybe I’d have chanced it. But they were obnoxiously over priced at the time, when a Vamo at 1/4 the price did the same thing, more even! it did watt mode!

How long did you use it before getting rid of it?

The only thing I can say with absolute certainty is that it’s hardware v1.01. I have read several other instances though of folks having noted issues with it doing similar, and they feel it was due to (or possibly induced by) switching between power mode and SS mode(s). Given that it happened after the third time I went to dry burn the coil clean, I’m definitely leaning towards that direction, but can’t understand why that would happen without doing an in depth examination of the actual code (which, for a $40 mod, I’m not inclined to do).

@BoDarc I was intentionally trying (hoping rather) to stay in the lower bracket (before preheat was implemented) due to liking the way it performs as is (while working). However given the above, I’m doubtful, but curious as to whether they’ve done a complete revamp on the 200w firmware, or if it was simply a numbers change.
As to the other, I know it’s not a liquid issue.

But that millionaire @Rob62 , the Coil Man,…didn’t either. [He is too busy interviewing/hiring a new pool boy, but the few pics I have seen are females in bikinis, if 3 band-aids and some dental floss constitute a bikini.

Anyway, the reason(s) are very simple.
Everyone should have a Provari…they NEVER fail. Look at all the current problems with the fancy mods, and mostly with the higher cost mods.
Here in the USA, we are currently blessed that the V2.5 models are available for $30-$35 USD. Yes, they need the button top batteries, but are still VERY affordable…and with a bit of trust and help, you too can take advantage of the savings…if you dare.
The new P3 was only $120USD, a $150 savings, but only comes in the evil gun metal grey, but I love it, and it uses the flat top 18650’s, OR any of the others previously used in the Provari’s.
As it may seem to be going in a backwards direction, it is going in a very positive direction for me to get a few and know I have dependable mods…at affordable prices. If you have researched the Provari’s in depth, then you surely understand their value. And even though they may be a cult, and one I really could not afford before,[I should have and could have if I had weighed all options] I am now blessed.
I will surely continue on my squonking path daily, but these recent additions have now given me pleasure beyond my dreams, and I have so many tanks/attys that are compatible with the Provari’s.
I may not have fulfilled your query, but I am always available 99% of the time to blow more vapor in your direction.
Surely I left many things out…I am old, and my mind wanders a bit back to helping @Rob62 find they right pool girl, er, um…maybe I just have flashbacks, eh?
