I have a problem with laying my mod on its side in my lap always have. No leaks from the steam crave v1!
Iām with you on this one. I used my Aromamizer V2 (v1.5??) in a side by side with the Engine and there really is no comparison. The engine is muted. It is hard to explain. Almost like youāre tasting too much cotton without it being burned. I dunno.
Now, the OBS Crius + is a good flavor tank, but it has a whole other set of problems. After a month or so they just act erratic. There is a serious design flaw in that one that I think is the insulator. Had three with identical issues and my buddy has had the same happen to his. Too bad because when it worked, it kicked ass IMO.
Best I could get was by backing way off the cotton everywhere. Pretty loose all over. That wicked enough to get ādecentā flavor. Equal to that of say the Griffin or the RTD-2 of last yearās vintage.
Iām gonna have to re-wick it when I get off work, but Iām tired and jsut got up and gotta go to work in a few >.> yawns The flavour is killer on this thing. @Silhouette Cheers, like this thing very much already, and that juice well o.o ā thatās why I gotta re-wick after work, Thing is deep.
Ah, and my camera is crap so Iāll just tell you thatās alien coils at .310ohms on there, the cap has 3 holes so you can do two or one (doing two coils, me) and it came with 3 different size drip tips, I left the largest one on there.
Oh, and thing is super easy to build on, really roomy post-holes, fastest Iāve ever put an atty together so far.
LOL because Iām noticing how MUCH good VAPING stuff is talked about here on ELR. I mean obviously DIYāing and all that THAT entails, but hehe, guys/gals, I get MORE about EQUIPMENT here, than I used on other sites, VAPING site, not DIYāing sites. Guess the flavor MAKERS, know more about flavor VAPING too. Very nice indeed.
Continue on, just noticing thisā¦
Sorry to hear thatā¦ I have a decent amount of cotton in here and the flavor seems to be coming through very well for meā¦ I wicked it slightly different doing a Kind of Scottish roll with my cotton and so far Iām pretty happy with itā¦ still wonāt stop me from trying others though
Well if NR shipped faster Iād be posting that today But they slow cause no air packaging.
@Jayrell Youāll see itās not just me having a hard time explaining what āitā is, but itās something. Agreeing that personal taste is hell on trying to quantify or compare, or even explain, but youāre lucky I sent my last SC out to @Cutlass92 or Iād ship you one JUST to see what you thought A/B comparison, and see how YOU could explain the differences.
Engine wasnāt bad by any stretch, but as youāve done, direct A/B comparison is really the way to go.
Lol,
Love and marriage, love and marriage,
Go together like a horse and carriageā¦
Canāt have one without the other.
I understand that! They fedex ground my shipment and I had nothing flammable or any nic lol but I had like 18 flavors or something like that and I guess it was the cheapest rout with free shipping so I just waited it took a week but I finally got it lol
They LOVE there FedEx!
I agree personal taste and side by sides are hard to explain but I will definitely pick up a SC soon and give it a tryā¦ the more good tanks and drippers I have the better
Hey all good. Not a āsorryā thing. I dig putzing with these things and getting what I can out of them. It still doesnāt leak or flood, especially with the slide top fill and no pressurization during filling. Thatās one thing I wish would be incorporated on more atties. I have a few that I have to fill off the mod with a rag to get the best flavor. Once the initial spill over from filling is done they are wonderful.
My serpent mini is like thatā¦ I can usually fill it pretty quick and donāt get much of any leaking but my wifeā¦ I swear half her tank drains because sheās a bit clumsy getting the top back on lol and she curses the whole timeā¦ the engine for her is a god send lol and she is rolling her eyes at me as Iām typing this lol
That was my fave drip tip for it as well , just be careful dripping as it can be snug for cotton and overfilling it is soo easy. Im glad ya like it, that makes me happy!
Amen, I just rebuilt my Serpent Mini today and of course, it still pressurizes and floods on fill up. Thatās another one that I wick sparingly to get the flavor to pop as much as it will. Having said all that, I thought all these atties were great until I fired up the Ammit 25 single and the Reload. Those two atties set an all new bar for me. According to my taste buds those two attties just blast with flavor. Crisp, fresh. Words fail me here too. Thereās a top end to the flavor, like the ring off of a fine cymbal that just astounds me. Definitely equal to my best RDA the Govad.
Maybe Iām just a master at wicking but Iāve never had a problem with the Serpent Mini. No dry hits and no leaking. And I dont do anything special with it. Too be honest Iāve never had wicking issues with any of the tanks Iāve owned. Except for the UD Zephyrus which was my very first rebuildable. That thing was and still is a pain in the ass to wick properly.
If memory serves, I think that the Crius uses a ceramic insulator which can crack after a few builds. That starts the resistance readings to go all sorts of janky and the only resolution is to round file the RTA. Itās a shame, really, as I heard some great things about the Crius but Iām a bit paranoid when it comes to small ceramic bits being in the path of my breath.
Have you tried inverting the tank after youāve filled it and plopped the cap back on? On all of my RTAās that are top-fill and have no juice flow control, Iāve found that if I turn them upside-down for 5-10 seconds I donāt get any juice blowing out from the deck and into the base. All of that air thatās pushing down on the juice is what causes the leak(At least thatās what my brain has deduced) so by flipping it over and allowing the air bubble to sit at the wicking ports for a few seconds seems to get the air pressure inside the tank to drop enough so that itās not pushing juice past the wick.
Just an update from this morning ā God I got so much leaking today, I seriously botched the job XD. What Iāve been learning is that for RDAs you want really thick, short wicks so itāll hold as much as possible (no tank flow to be too thick for) and so you donāt get drip leaking thru the bottom and for RTAs you want just long enough to hit the bottom of the well or nothing keeps the liquid in, but the thicker wicks invariably end up plugging the hole for me and I just end up with dry hits. So RTAs are thinner and a little longer.
And yeah, I put like, way too long and way too thin wicking in there because, I am not a morning person!
I, assuming Iām not mistaken from my experiments, have learned things! Yay science! Now if only I can figure out how to make that e-liquid residue on my skin wipe away instead of having to go wash up in the kitchen every time >.>
EDIT: OH HEY! My smok tip fits on this thing! The SMok tip is fracking huge man. . .and itās kinda awesome. I think many would argue itās way too airy, but I kinda like overly-airy vapes a bit. REduces throat hit to 0 at the cost of flavour. Nice in some ways, but not what Iād take as my only option if I could only have an excessively large bore or not, Iād take not ā but variety is amusing in-of itself.
