Completely agree buying extra DNA boards isn’t necessary even if you are gonna use it as a daily mod. I have two LV mods (Therion BF and dual battery) both with DNA75 boards. Both got used A LOT over the years over 4-5 years usage on both. Yes both need new boards and I have replacements it’s just a pain in the butt to remove the old ones and install new. Recently my daily mods are pods now so I’m in no hurry to replace.
Lol nice. Everyone says no need but they have spares haha. Lets put it this way, I won’t make it a priority, but maybe I might buy one later on, depending on if I like the mod enough…
I’d like to know what you find
I’ll let you know once I find out
What are the most issues that cause an atty to err? I have one that sometimes registers resistance and sometimes not. It drives me crazy. I’ve broken it down and can’t find anything. I thought maybe the peek insulator was cracked. I try it on different mods and sometimes it works better, sometimes not
I had a Crius RTA that I loved and it would do the same thing. Never found out what it was that caused it to act so flaky. Worked quite well for almost a year.
I’d check your 510 insulator and pin, make sure the coils aren’t anywhere near touching the sides, 510 center pin, deck etc, and check for any loose wire pieces floating around on the deck.
If all checks out, then i’d write it off as a case of the “fuck-its”.
It helps the frustration level to just chuck it.
Not trapping the coils under the screws properly.
Dirt (dried on ejuice) on the atty and mod threading.
Dirty 510 on the mod and the atty side.
Oh geez, I saw that as atty hole because of our last conversation I gotta get off the hole thing (pun intended)
I had a problem with the Skyfall RTA and single wire builds. It would hold when newly built, but as condensation built up, it would loosen and move around. Drove me nuts!
mental cleansing time!
Yeah, I’ve seen that also. I only vape single titanium wire builds sometimes in BB RBA’s and always check the fasteners before putting everything back together.
@muth have you tried gently pushing/ pulling the 510? Sometimes I would over tighten the atty in my early days of vaping and pushing the 510 a tad always worked.
You mean for a spring loaded 510 connection? I’ve had problems with the spring collapsing and on mods where you can’t get access I guess the only solution would be to push/pull the atty. I’ll give that a try, thx Letitia.
I just used something to slightly push down the pin from inside the deck itself. I would just use whatever was small enough and was within reach. Worked every time. This was back in the late 20teens. Took me at least 2-3 months to break that habit.
Oh you mean on the atty’s deck? I’m not sure I follow you.
Remember when we used rare earth magnets in our mech tubes? If I can find some small enough I could place it on top of the collapsed 510 pin on the mod so the atty’s 510 connection pin can make contact with the mod. Right? Why not? Not all 510 pins are adjustable on atties or mods. What else can you do?
Muth I’ve not had that problem in years. All I know I could just push it out a bit and the mod could read the atty. Unfortunately I still over tighten my jar lids.
Lol
Omg, that’s why I bought those special Ball jar lids. They never get stuck no matter how tight. What a lifesaver they turned out to be.
I do know what you mean about the 510s. I’ve pryed them up in order to make contact but it’s a temporary fix.
I remember having the problem with the Smok Tanks overtightening on certain mods and shorting out the 510 pin, I would have to back the atty off a quarter turn for it to read. I ended up making plastic shims on the bottom of the tanks to avoid the issue…
Might have been the smok tf4 I had problems with. The discs wasn’t even on my radar back then. There was another before them, maybe the cleito.
