Vaperz Cloud Osiris Mini RTA Reviewed by SessionDrummer

A big thanks out to @Lynda_Marie who turned me onto Vaperz Cloud, their 25mm Osiris Mini RTA, and the Extension Kit. No funding, no sponsoring, and no #TeamFreeShit here people, so you’ll get the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Well, you would have gotten that anyways, but you knew that already.

I was able to pick up both the Osiris 25mm Mini RTA, and Extension Kit both from …

https://vaperzcloud.com/product-category/vaperz-cloud/vaperz-cloud-rta/

Great boxing for both the Mini RTA and Extension Kit.

The Osiris was packaged snugly in it’s box.

User’s Manual.

With some not entirely detailed instructions.

O-rings, and spare grubs.

The Osiris Mini with pre-installed 2.5ml straight glass, and 3.5ml bubble glass.

The Osiris Mini broken down for cleaning.

Starting out with the very nicely knurled top cap, and 810 tip.

Quarter turn release on the top cap, and somewhat generous dual fill ports.

A closer look at the top cap keying, and double o-rings.

The bottom of the top tank plate, dual o-ringed.

The chimney section, single o-ringed.

Inside of the domed chimney section with 4 juice flow ports.

Build deck with screws and 9 air flow ports (per side) visible.

Dual airflow ports, and the deck locking tab (more on this later).

Closeup of the screws, and airflow ports.

Topside with the coil leg screws retracted.

Now, a little more detail on the deck locking tab. O = Open, for deck/tank separation.

With the deck lock tab retracted.

F = Filling.

With the deck lock tab engaged, preventing deck/tank separation.

For my tests, I used some Vandy Vape Ni80 triple core 26/36 fused claptions.

Double checked that the 5 wraps would fit.

Although not mentioned in the manual, 6mm seemed like the right height.

Trimmed, and loose fit before hitting them with the rod.

A good side shot to show the height at 6mm.

The coils paired, tightened, and straightened.

Side view of the coils.

Pulsed, stroked, pinched, and all hot spots eliminated.

With the 5 wrap coils I chose, I did have to wrap the tails back just a bit to land in the wells. I trimmed the tail even with the bottom of the wells, and thinned them so they were snug, but not packed.

Money Shot.

Sauced, and ready to assemble.

While big enough to fill with my Cosmo tips it did take a little tipping, and effort. Needle tipped bottles would be easier to fill with.

Air bubbles as the wicks fully saturated.

Ready for testing.

I did not test either the included bubble glass, or the one included in the extension kit, but I did run the larger straight glass from the extension kit. The kit contained a straight and bubble glass, 5 colored extension adapters, and replacement o-rings.

Comparison of the stock vs. Extension straight glass.

The Osiris just looks better running the larger glass.

And yes, after my initial tests, I DID do a direct A/B comparison to my SteamCrave Supreme.

Testing Usage:

There was a slight learning curve with this one, and although it was great Vaperz Cloud included a user’s manual, it really only covered the basics, so I had to learn as I went, to some degree. I don’t think I even saw the Deck Lock mentioned in the manual, but once I figured out the O, and F, I was off to the races, and it DID actually work. I did get some minor weeping in between the top of the deck mating surface, and the bottom lip of the chimney, but it was minor at best, and depending on how the deck/tank were seated, sometimes it completely vanished, BUT, something to be aware of. Through hole screws are not unique to this deck, BUT, if you accidentally backed them out too much (I did it on purpose), they were HELLA fun trying to get back in.

I liked that VC thought ahead, and made it more user friendly by the rotation of the deck/tank, and 1/4 turn cap for filling. The only way to remove the top cap for filling it rotating counter clockwise, which by design, first shut off the juice flow ports, then released the top cap, and vice versa, pretty nice. The deck was small(er), but it’s a 25mm so that was to be expected, and it was easy enough to build on, even with my 5 wrap coils. Because of where the wick tails landed, and the width of my coils, instead of dropping the tails straight down into the wells, I had to bring them back slightly to land, but, this will vary depending on how much room your coils take/took up. The airflow was slightly restricted, even open to full bore, but I’m pretty sure it ADDED to the saturation of flavor I was getting out of it. Flavor WAS very good on this one.

Pros:

  • Great looks with minimal branding
  • Nice juice flow shut off and 1/4 turn top cap removal
  • Good airflow
  • Great saturated flavor
  • Fairly roomy deck, even for a 25mm
  • Straight glass, and bubble glass included
  • Extension Kit available (extra cost)

Cons:

  • Screws very small, and if backed out too far, very hard to get back in (through hole design)
  • Airflow ring hard(er) to adjust once tank secured on mod
  • Some minor weeping in between chimney lip and deck
  • Fill ports adequate, but harder to fill with larger Cosmo bottles
  • User’s manual only had general info
  • No coils, wicks included

Conclusion:

Even WITH all of the Cons with this one, and the learning-ish curve, this one impressed me. The flavor saturation, and reproduction was VERY good. The small screws, and (learning curve) wicking not withstanding, I was even more impressed when doing an A/B comparison to my SteamCrave Supreme. The Osiris was pretty close in comparison, and flavor-wise, I’d rate it as high as 8.95/10 as in comparison to the SC, which was pretty impressive. The airflow ring WAS indeed rather hard to adjust while the tank was seated on a mod, but for me, less of an issue, as I just set it for wide open, and never changed it, so YOUR mileage may vary, especially if you’re an airflow tweaker.

Fit and finish were top rate, with no issues, and all of the threaded parts went smoothly together. The deck lock feature worked surprisingly well, and did INDEED prevent you from accidentally separating the tank from the deck, but I couldn’t be sure if IT, was responsible for the minor weeping. The airflow was only slightly restricted, but as mentioned, I think that added to the saturation of the flavors, and might actually be a PRO. It would have been nice(r) if they had included coils, shoelace wicks, or even a little more info in the manual, but, hehe, that didn’t slow me down much. All in, even with the cons, this one was worth it, and I’m thinking about picking up a 2nd one.

After running the larger extension kit straight glass, I determined there was NO negative impact on flavor, which can sometimes happen when extending the chimney. I could only find mm specs on the extension tanks, so using a crude syringe measuring, the extension straight glass took about 4.5ml of juice, and I’m assuming the extension bubble glass will be 5.5ml. Because I RTA / RDTA for my daily driver, the LESS I have to fill up the better, and I’m glad that @Lynda_Marie mentioned the extension kit, as it cut my fill ups in half, and just plain looked better !!!

As always, for any of you, that have actually made it ALL the way down here, I salute you, and thanks for giving me some of your time, and reading this review. As always, some bonus shots for the faithful.

Great photos! I’ll go through the couple of cons first.

The deck screws, I can see them stripping. I did struggle with finding a small enough screwdriver, and I didn’t think they were the smoothest for unscrewing them.
If I’m nitpicking, the machining isn’t their best work. I have a bunch of their rta’s and RDA’s and the machining was a bit lower compared to other attys of VC.
The deck, you can’t put beefier coils in only because there isn’t a ton of room for cotton. The deck is good size for a 25mm, but the wells are a little smaller than I’d like to have.
The glass it comes doesn’t hold much juice. If I’m using an rta, I don’t want to be filling it every 5 minutes. I like they have the extension kit, but it’s not an “extra”, you have to purchase it.
The seeping from the middle, while very minimal, it’s there.

Pros-first would have to be the flavor. I haven’t put it down since I built it. The flavor is definitely an 8.5-9.
I think this wicks very well. I like the 4 wells. I actually got the wicking right on the first try. I thought I put too much cotton in, but I get a ton of bubbles and zero dry hits.
The option for the extension glass, and it comes with all the colors for the chimney. I bought 2 extension kits for the 2 tanks I bought.
It’s nice looking, not a ton of branding, but there never is with VC. It’s classy.
Good airflow for a 25mm, I used 3mm quad (maybe tri, I can’t recall) core aliens 4 wrap ohming at a .10.

All in all, I agree with @SessionDrummer. It’s a nice tank. Flavor for days (I’m not a cloud chaser) but produces good vapors. If you’re into rta’s, I’d recommend this tank. It’s an easy build and wicking isn’t bad, just use good judgment. I think I’ll pick up another color because I’m a hoarder of vape gear i enjoy!

I forgot, I absolutely love that it has juice flow control. It can even dial in just 2 of the 4 in case you want go throw a single coil in there…

I forgot to mention, I cut my leads at 5.5 on the coily tool per Mike Vapes from his review last year.

Well it’s 0 dark early over here @Lynda_Marie, and I’m on I think the 6th tank on the extension glass, and now that I’m aware of the deck lock pin, AND, I’m making SURE, to finalize it to F for Filling, I haven’t had any weeping, and the tank seems secure. Because the deck lock pin isn’t automatic, meaning when you start spinning the deck around to fill, finish filling, the pin doesn’t lock itself, I think what might have been MY ISSUE, was I was leaving the pin on the O (open) position, which left only the o-ring to try and keep the deck, and tank secured to each other, causing the weeping, and wobbly seal.

I’ll let you know, but it’s starting to look like on my end, it was user error.

I see what you’re saying. I locked the deck immediately after the build. I thought the F stood for fastened l(?) O for open F for fastened lol I need to change my cotton so I’ll double check the things I need to- O ring and fill.

So I just rewicked…seems I’m getting no seepage from that area. Not sure why. The only thing I did was thin the cotton out a little more, which obviously wouldn’t have anything to do with it. I am getting better wicking though.

@Lynda_Marie well you’re smarter than I am. I think I ran two tanks in “O” before I wondered what the hell “O”, and “F” meant LOL.

Whenever I review something, unless it catches fire (LOL), I never watch any other reviews beforehand. I don’t think the manual even mentions it.

I only watch a couple reviews to find out what people cut their leads at…I take those reviews for what they are worth, I just want a build tutorial lol

Thank you for the review!
I bought mine a few months ago, and i struggled with wicking at first… i think if i remember right, first i had too much cotton, then not enough…now i know what i have to use with my standard coils.
I really like the flavor, it‘s good and would make it into my top10 rta range.

I am not 100% keen on the closing/locking mechanic, but it‘s a fresh take on the subject.
I really do like gravity fed rtas.
Cloud production is decent, i honestly thought it would be way too airy, but it‘s a really nice vape.

My rating would be a 7/10 overall
