Why does a recipe calling for 50% vg/pg mix in the vape mix calculator always call for much more vg than pg?

Because most of the flavors we use are based on PG and affect the final percentage.

Something I’ve learned, higher VG mixes are for use in sub ohm devices while 50% vg/pg is more suited to MTL devices.

If you are looking at it by weight (grams) versus volume, it may look like it is “much more”, but check it out by volume. The weight/volume ratio is different for PG versus VG. I could be wrong about this, but that would be my best guess.
