Terrible mistake… 
I have no sympathy for this man. Of course it should not have happened, and it is a bad thing it have happened, because it damages the view on vaping. This ignorant fool have not only been messing with a mech while having no clue how to build coils, not knowing ohms law come out as he does saying he did nothing wrong and recommend people to stop vaping, then fuck him.
Further more, fuck the media who are spreading this BS painting a bad picture of vaping.
Where was the media blaming the mobile industry when Samsung galaxy notes burst into fire?
Where was the media blaming the car industry when Tesla cars burst into fire?
In many cases where it has actually been a manufacture fault such as the Toyota break issues, then it is put as manufacture faults can happen and a recall is accepted, and we all move on.
When it is vaping and clearly a human fault which it is in most cases, vaping in general is painted as the issue.
Fuck this guy and fuck the media that are helping trying make vaping look bad with this story.

This guy is an idiot. Plain and simple. When you mess with mechs, build fat beast coils, and take monster hits, you accept the risk and take responsibility for this kind of crap happening to you. Don’t come crying when the sh!t hits the fan, and blame vaping.
For $20 - $30, you could’ve quit smoking, bought a nice compact regulated mod, take no risks, and live happy, but you just had to hit it like a beast…

Guess what? I’ve been doing this since 2010, and I still don’t mess with mechs. You trusted your lungs and your face to a metal tube made in China, with probably a rewrapped knock off battery that you got from Aliexpress or from a local ape shop.

WTF, a year old coil even? That is just crazy and fucking stupid specially in a mech. I would say in a mech mod, even if you dont change the coil, you should at least check it in an ohms reader once in a while.
As Grimm is on to here, the fault is partly the shop who sold it and failed to give proper advise. This is however a big problem in general, because so many sell these things without any knowledge whatsoever.

What needs to be done in that case, and what I’ve already done and would urge all of you to do, is email whatever newspapers that ran that story and point out to them exactly what caused that injury. Then demand that they print a follow up to correct all their errors. It won’t do us any good talking to each other about it in here, we already know what went wrong. We need to start putting an end to the misinformation being spread about vaping.

I did have a pop at another vaper who posted the Story on Diyordie fbook page, just posting it and helping with the scaremongering, he took it down soon after as a lot of people agreed even though he argued with ‘well isnt the internet made for sharing’…get in the fucking sea, nob.

Should have pointed out that a regulated mod would be safer, it almost looks like that vaping in general is dangerous with that other guys post underneath…

Also, Sub-ohm can be 0.99 - 0.01 and a lot of the good, popular tanks use 0.5 coils
