WF Caramel Rice Crispy Treats

Just wondering is WF caramel rice crispy treats a weak caramel flavour? I’ve been mixing with it at low (1%) and high (5%) percenatges and don’t get any distinguishable taste from it ( crispy, rice or caramel) . Maybe a bit of nutmeg or cinnamon. Other than that, it tastes like an indistinguishable sweet mess. Maybe I can’t taste caramel? Or am I missing out on something?

It’s not a very good stand alone flavor but works well in recipe support. I use it in Custards and Cereals to add sweetness and add a bit of complexity. It also works well using it as if it were just Caramel. And yes it needs more than 1% to be made of good use. I normally use at least 2% up to 5%.

I thought that I read that the WF concentrates needed 10-15%?
Could be wrong though?

Hmmm…they do a super concentrate range now as well, so I’m guessing that’s what the OP is using?

Ah! That makes sense!

This one not a super concentrate. Recommended range is 2-6%

I usually add Brown Sugar with it… to make it “darker”

Thanks Frank. how much TPA brown sugar do you add? 0

I’ll go heavy with it, around 1.5-2%
