What are y'all up to?

Definitely not cheap, but cheaper than smoking or buying retail.

What is killing me is the cost of importing things to South Africa.
I really want to get a Death Wish mod but I end end up paying double to get it here.
I am also running low on wire and since I am selling my coils, I don’t want to compromise on quality, so no AliExpress wire. I need KP or the like. Again, importing it is crazy expensive.

Totally makes sense.

Yep…me too so I guess we are in it together lol

He loves everyone! He has become leash reactive which kind of sucks. We started training with a lady who, unfortunately, handled him very badly with a prong collar on. I can’t even begin to describe what happened. It was awful. I don’t know how I contained my anger with the lady. It was the worst case of someone becoming angry with any animal I’ve seen. Anyway-

He sits to let me out the door first, sits at stairs, and I bring high value treats on walks and keep one in my hand at all times. I’m having a hard time with place and stay. He is a good boy…but I really miss my boy. He was one of a kind.

Repeat, repeat, repeat! Stay consistent and reward. He is still young. I walk peaches I taught her to come back to me if she sees a car approaching to come to my side. She does it every time now. Don’t have to give a command. Dogs want structure.

I’ve been riding my BMX bike a lot, I’m starting to actually get pretty good. I don’t do the crazy jumps and 180s, I ride flatland around town. I only just started last year, it’s just so fun. I’m starting to get good at rocket manuals, eventually once I really nail my balance I want to do the cooler tricks.

Feels so retro, but I still don’t feel old. I just trick myself into thinking like it’s not 2025 lol. In my head, it feels like time doesn’t really move forward. It feels great to stay active, and I like to think I’m an inspiration to kids, especially girls. There is nobody around showing that girls can do cool stuff on a bike.

Man, I wish I could take pictures of the faces people make at me while I’m riding my BMX bike. I’m not the one being a dick, always make sure the roads are clear both ways and I stay off busy streets. The streets I ride on are much, much wider than typical roads. I’ve had people I swear wanted to run me over. I live in an area where everyone rides their bike in the road, only
difference is I’m on BMX. Some look at me like I have 3 heads though, or like I’m the scum of the earth :skull_and_crossbones:. A lot of times I also see people smile though. I try to find spots to ride, but I ride on the street getting to and from, very low traffic streets, and occasionally some dumpster diving.

Doing things is how you stay young. Don’t worry about other people…and ypu do you. If you i spire…great. I do cosplay which is fun. Keeps me young. Not really an active thing, but the sewing part keeps the brain active. Good in ya.

I could post a photo to describe what I’ve been up to but it’s so grotesque I wouldn’t want to ruin anyone’s appetite. Friday morning I had dental surgery for an implant. Everything was looking good. My bone density looked good, he didn’t have to cut gum or use sutures. No real pain, bleeding or swelling. Then…starting Saturday afternoon I woke up from a nap with blood all over my pillow and developed continuous “liver clots” over and over. They call them that because they look like pieces of raw liver  And I’m not talking specks of liver, more like inch long chunks…barf. Haven’t been much in the mood for mixing.

Hey thx, Oldguy  I had a friend many years ago from Maine. He loved Nova Scotia and said he wanted to move there someday, maybe to retire. He was a fascinating man with the best stories to tell. A vet who lost his family due to his drinking, he spent the better part of his life as a freight hopping hobo. He eventually sobered up and lived a healthy life. That’s when I met him. Shortly after, he planned a cross country trip by bicycle from the Boston area to Oregon. Only several miles from his destination, his son’s home, he broke his ankle and had to be driven the rest of the way. But what a story. The man disliked being cooped up and preferred the outdoors over anything. In my mind, he’s one of my most admired acquaintances and it would be fun to see him again.

Oh no @muth !!! I’ve had my fair share of dental “issues”, and can appreciate your situation. Fast recovery/healing.

Train hopping people have got to be some of the most interesting people out there. There’s so much to see outside.

Im sure he’d enjoy it here. We also have very close ties with Maine and Boston. Maine…an easy visit, and close to us. Boston…well we send the Christmas tree every year for their help after the Halifax explosion.

For anyone who doesn’t know about this (since it happened so long ago):

Yes, and every year Bostonians say, “The tree from Nova Scotia is here!”

Thx everyone for the well wishes on my tooth. I just got back from the dental office and he said it looks like it’s starting to make a normal clot now. Whew, thank gawd! No more liver stalactites hanging off the top of my mouth

OMG I MIGHT FINALLY HAVE A JOB!!

Went to an interview today and the guy really liked me. Small ish place, it’s a warehouse but I get my own desk for interacting with customers. It’s a bit different than my other warehouse jobs because it’s a customer facing warehouse. I had to actually go buy some new clothes from the thrift store. I figure I would prepare ahead of time. All of my pants are like 5-10+ years old and naturally worn and ripped :skull_and_crossbones:. Thrift store had 1$ pants that looked brand new, and I got some nice feminine looking tops. Hallelujah!
