Mark Knopfler, Janine (One Deep River, 2024)

The thing about a cowtown
There’s always dust
The thing about a boom is
There’s always a bust
Janine my heart goes out to you
I know you’ve been trying
I’ve been trying too

Iggy Pop, Brick by Brick (Brick by Brick, 1990)

I’m building a house where I can think
And have some balance and dignity
I’m building a house where no one can hurt me

I’m building a house where the weak are strong
I’m building a house with a real song
I’m using a faith that is immortal

I’m building it with simplicity
And the way that we feel, you and me
I’m building it with what I believe in

My daughter (22) and I were talking about music. I was telling her I was a huge fan of Joe Cocker. She said then you need to listen to Teddy Swims.
He is the Joe Cocker of this generation.

I’ll show you what it’s all about; enough of the fake,
bang your feet in a rage, tear down the walls and let us out!
We’re more than mere morons, perpetually conned,
so come on everybody, smash the system with the song.
Smash the system with the song!

This would have fit right in with a scifi movie such as Passengers or Prometheus.

Thanks for sharing this. I agree with @robrrt1 about sounding like it could be used as part of a movie soundtrack. Great quality. Impressive !!

these guys have some interesting stuff, every song is completely different. Kinda like The Prodigy and Limp Bizkit had a baby but way way better. Second song Bad Seed is a banger.

Yeah I been high and I been low
And I don’t know where to go
I’m living on the never never never
This time it’s gonna be forever
I’ll live and die don’t ask me why
I want to go to paradise
And I don’t need your sympathy
There’s nothing in this world for me
Birth, school, work, death

@trcallahan beyond impressive. Probably the best comment was from YT …

“If you locked two people in a room for 20 years blasting every Rush album from Caress Of Steel to Signals, when they emerged they’d be Crown Lands.”

I heard uncountable references to Permanent Waves, 2112, Hemispheres, and much more.

18 minutes, 42 seconds, of Get The Fuck Outta Here.
