What Are You Listening To? (Part V) 2021

Those are all in the playlist. I went with the better known stuff as an example. Quiet riot is also there.

I take a break from it to listen to a very large iron maiden playlist to remember the “manly”

I think Operation mindcrime and empire hold up today. Can’t say I love the recent stuff I checked out.

I used to use a few songs off of JLP’s Fables to warm up. Still fun, challenging …

I’m listening to Tiger Lillies - don’t listen to it if you’re religious or get easily offended. Just answering the question at hand for maybe some others who may like weird stuff.

Wow that video looks like a Tesco advert. I don’t know Slough so well but I guess you have to be born there to make a song like this. To me Slough is more like an exit sign on the M4 with a big potential for traffic catastrophes at any time. But hey, which town in southern England isn’t a traffic nightmare?

I think Jane(Ricky g partner) is from Slough - I’m guessing they had a long chat regarding the office and the song!

One of my favorite concerts was Harry Chapin. No big production. Just him and his band (including his brother) telling stories with song. Between songs, he would talk to the audience…sometimes about what sparked the idea for the next song. “We were on tour and while driving through Candor, NY, I thought…I bet the mayor lies”…followed by song " The Mayor of Candor Lied". Though there were about 5,000 folks there, it felt homey, comfortable and intimate. I was sure I would see him again. Shortly after this concert, he died. I remember him promoting solutions to world hunger and having world hunger t-shirts and sway for sale after the concert.
