17 or 18, some weed (sometimes too much), a big V8, driving laps of Perth city on a Friday night with some mates, playing stuff like this too loud on the car’s 8-speaker sound system and then head back the 15 miles to our local pub and then the local night club to get pissed (drunk). Ah the good ol’ days…
Excellent Band
Here’s one of my favorite T.Rex songs.

Marc Bolan was my idol when I was younger and I was (still am really) a massive fan so I’m really pleased to see the last two posts were of his music. His death was a massive blow to the music industry and left a huge gap because of his many talents. R.I.P Marc.

T-Rex was very under-rated, in my book. And Marc Bolan was an incredible guitarist who died way too young. It hits home to be as a person in recovery and reminds me to be VERY grateful for my recovery lifestyle. Gotta say, I am amazed at how many fine musicians there are in recovery today and wish more would have found it.
Yes he was multitalented including being an excellent guitarist, writing his own music and also poetry and had a book released called The Warlock Of Love which I’m lucky to own a copy of.
He did clean his act right up from cocaine and alcohol abuse but then tragically died in a car crash, ironically he loved cars but never learned to drive. Well done on your recovery buddy, I hope you are proud of yourself , keep fighting that good fight mate.
Thanks for the kind words.
Real’s Not Real · King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
But this is KGATLW’s best video IMO (71 minutes)
Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa & Primus knocked up Chris Squire and KGATLW slid out fully formed

Going way back to when I was just a twinkle in my daddy’s eye!
“Like always , I made the beat get funky, I keep your head bouncing like a dope fiend junkie!”
Official bootleg from Bonnaroo '22 released this month. My first watch.
Pro-shot, looks and sounds mint. They play some of just about everything.
Mars For The Rich should be a good place to initiate so that’s where this is linked at
A song I like’s been used in so many TV shows & movies but I never knew who sang it. I watched Two Weeks To Live with Maisie Williams (GoT’s Arya Stark) and this was an episode’s outro song.
Now I know.
Here’s the 12 minute version from Carnegie Hall 1938
From the poster’s notes - "Live from Carnegie Hall, New York, 1938
(Visual accompaniment – “New York: The Wonder City” (1938) – it was slightly longer than the music, so I just let it run, in case you wanted to see the rest!)"
Shooter Jennings & Stephen King 2010 - Black Ribbons - Wikipedia
This song was used during a very intense scene in Sons Of Anarchy
Stephen King narrates between songs, his 'tween is included at the end of the song here
