Here’s one of my high school favs!
Thanks for reminding us of the classics. I seldom listen to Classical anymore but was raised on it. My older brother was a child prodigy on the piano, and I grew up listening to a lot of it. Also did a Classical show on the radio for part of a year when I was DJ’ing in college. My brother’s ashes are spread near Haydn’s tomb. Maybe it’s time for me to revisit that genre again.
@Mowgli I would say BOTH.
It’s interesting what a difference 9 years can make. It’s not that the 46 and 2 was bad, but the Disasterpiece seemed to better showcase his ability (and 9 years).
Little child dry your crying eyes
How can I explain the fear you feel inside
'Cause you were born into this evil world
Where man is killing man and no one knows just why
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again
When the children cry let them know we tried
'Cause when the children sing then the new world begins
Little child you must show the way
To a better day for all the young
'Cause you were born for all the world to see
That we all can live with love and peace
No more presidents and all the wars will end
One united world under God
When the children cry let them know we tried
'Cause when the children sing then the new world begins
What have we become just look what we have done
All that we destroyed you must build again
No more presidents and all the wars will end
One united world under God
When the children cry let them know we tried
When the children fight let them know it ain’t right
When the children pray let them know the way
'Cause when the children sing then the new world begins
He’s always been a favourite of mine. I’ve seen him twice in TO, 20 years apart.

There’s a guitar riff in there that sounds similar to what he used in All The Girls Love Alice.
I think it’s in “Alice” without checking but let’s see
I’ve always been a fan of epics like Green Grass & High Tides, Stairway, Whipping Post etc
Madman Across the Water fits that bill IMO
I was watching the It Might Get Loud movie when I heard Jimmy Page start playing Ramble On so I looked to see if Rick Beato did a video on it. Sho nuff he did and he included a clip of Page from the It Might Get Loud movie. I haven’t had a single YT ad since I installed (free) Ublock Origin plug-in for Firefox. The YT page says “free with ads” but none so far.

I love Rick’s breakdowns on songs. It’s so cool to hear all the elements isolated. So many times I relisten and hear how they fit in the assembled songs and never really noticed before how some of the elements are built and not a single “organic” sound.
Ramble On
I f’ing love this song

Love this band a lot… Agent Orange is great as well
Wow !! You mentioned Uriah Heep and that brought back fond memories of seeing them live in their heyday…1973 at the Dane County Coliseum in Madison WI. The other acts were Billy Preston and McKendree Spring. Quite a show !! Love your taste in music.
Thanks @Cary1.
I was already a big fan of Billy Preston from Outa-Space on the radio when I first got Goat’s Head Soup. When I saw Billy credited in the liner notes in GHS I said “hey I know that guy”

Everybody Likes Some Kind Of Music was another of my first LPs in the early 70’s.

The Stones finally released Criss Cross in Goats Head Soup 2020 Deluxe Edition.
Recorded during the Goat’s Head Soup recording sessions and fully mastered way back then IIRC.
Imagine being so big that you have songs like this just sitting on the shelf for almost 50 years.

I’m binge watching Preacher again since I got a free week of Hulu to watch Prey.
Last episode of Season 1 credits rolled to Let It Bleed and I found this series of lyrics videos.
Pretty cool IMO. I’d already seen Sympathy For The Devil, She’s A Rainbow, 2000 Light Years From Home, Live With Me & a few others but still a neat rediscovery.

I’ve been playing my Savoy Brown through headphones and I’m 4 albums in.
BGO Records rock. Great masters with no compression.
Set to start at the song “Looking In” but it’s all good blues ripped right.
Check out MazNour II’s channel if you like classic & hard rock/blues//psych/prog.

The guy seems to have more money than god. So many box sets & expensive rarities.
Captain Beyond is neither but it’s good and most people have never heard of them.

I posted a trippy Ravel’s Bolero video the other day.
This video is set to start at The James Gang ~ The Bomber.
Some LP’s had Bolero included in Bomber and others didn’t. This one does.

Thanks for the memories. I was just talking with a friend about The James Gang. What a group and should get more respect than it does. But I am biased…I am up on most anything that includes Joe Walsh… He is not only talented, but a darned nice guy.
