Tony and I also ran an underground pirate FM radio station. We had to move it
every few days to keep from getting caught. Couldn’t happen these days with
the equipment fcc has in this digital age. They had to triangulate the signal then.
This one is very nostalgic for me.
I’m getting a strong 80s vibe with the softer synth of the 90s.
The Knife and Jarre mixed together is what first sprung to mind.
Here’s a link to Chronologie: My personal favourite album by Jarre:
Chronologie Part 3 live in Paris on Bastille Day was glorious.
And the clip?
hypnotic…
If you like the genre of music the group released 3 albums at the same time, all 3 very good.
Oh I have exceptionally wide tastes so I always ensure that I dip my toe in all genres.
In general I prefer electronic music, even better if without lyrics or in an incomprehensible language.
I can tell you that I once made a terrible mistake.
I really liked an English singer, I decided to translate her songs to better understand her elegant and sophisticated style, an incredible voice…I was in love with her.
It was better not to translate that childish bullshit…
Rest in peace his soul
It’s like translating Rammstein into English: The lyrics are all rather mundane.
If you like electronic with incomprehensible lyrics, then I assume you’re a Sigur Rós fan. If not, they create mixed electronic ambient with the lyrics mostly being in a fake language only made to convey emotion.
Sæglópur is my personal favourite as it features heavily in one of my favourite movies. Although, most will know them for Hoppípolla. Whereas Dead Space fans got to know them from Dauðalagið.
can we say that this is not only a song but also a movie?
I refuse to translate the text, the title already leaves little room for imagination…
but perhaps the only thing I can hear about this band, otherwise I find them twisted and boring, and obviously I don’t want to delve into the ideas that move the band, I prefer not to know.
yes, i like sigur ros a lot, but i used to listen to it years ago, i lost them lately
Indeed, I do like to listen to things bases on their own merits. I also have the same attitude with movies: I want to know as little as possible before listening/watching it. That way, I can more easily attach to it.
For example, I love The Ninth Gate but many hate it due to the crimes of the director.
this is irrelevant, but still you reminded me of one of my favorite female artists…I haven’t listened to her for years, will I have changed or will I still love her?
I could never consciously read/watch/listen to the work of a maniac, a rapist or a murderer… it’s not so much the fear that a deviant mind could negatively affect me… I don’t want my money getting to this scum
we’re not talking about Van Gogh, who cuts off his ear in a form of pain and suffering… I’m talking about someone who abuses others. there is no art in these people. this is my personal point of view, there is no controversy
I completely understand your views on this matter. Just a different perspective on things.
That is an interesting thought on Björk.
I must admit I am also not sure what my feelings will be. I will listen to the two you shared in the morning - It’s now my evening movie time.
I finally got around to listening to them.
I listened twice, the latter with my eyes closed, as the videos were distracting due to the memories they conjured.
The morphing on a plain background screamed Pink:
The makeup and editing was just like Splice:
Although, it’s good to see that Björk is still mad but not veering too much towards Yoko Ono levels,
