You JUST keep nailing it @mew !!
Just got the remastered vinyl as a replacement for my old “snap-crackle and pop” vinyl and the quality is first rate. Highly recommend it to any Floyd fans.
@Lostmarbles Outstanding. I remember playing that album so many times, both in college and then again in my 30’s on better equipment. It is one of the best albums of all time. And though I put this in a prior post, I was in the audience for the first live performance of Dark Side in 1973. They played songs from Meddle, Obscured by Clouds, etc and then did this “thing” for the next hour. We had never heard this “thing” before, but it was spectacular…and it was Dark Side. One of my fondest memories.
This album has so many memories attached to it. The first time I heard it was in an Italian barbershop in San Francisco when I was 10. My mom loved music and the shop would let teens bring in their albums and play them while they were getting their haircuts, so that’s where we went. I’d get a haircut and she’d listen to music.
Back then, kids would carry their albums around because someone, somewhere, would have a turntable. Didn’t matter where you were.
One of my favorite lyrics from the Time song
“Shorter of breath and one day closer to death”
I need this!!! All my PF vinyls are “well played.” Still sounds good on my Technics linear tracking turntable paired with a Kenwood KA-8100 amp though. Some audiophiles like the snap crackle pop but I prefer crystal clear sound.
Here’s a good source for buying vinyl online. Pink Floyd – The Dark Side Of The Moon (2016, 180 Gram, Gatefold, Vinyl) - Discogs

@big_vape @Mew I am amazed that Roger Waters wrote such wise lyrics at such a young age. The sentiment and message of “Time” are timeless…and wise.
The same is true of the lyrics on a number of other Pink Floyd songs from Dark Side and other albums.
got mine from Amazon’s Essential Vinyl subscription. They have some good ones and all have been 180g and never over $25.00. The only problem I’ve had is that they only give you a couple of days to cancel the monthly shipment in case you don’t want/need it. You can always send it back for a refund, but I just find someone who wants what I don’t and it’s all good. My son uses discogs a lot and likes it.
Sounds like a modern day version of Columbia House. Very cool! I’m pretty sure some of my vinyls came from this company. I inherited a large collection. Not many record shops around where I live but when I find one I can spend hours in it. It’s good to see many vinyls being remastered. I’m a Prime member of Amazon so I’ll check it out . Thanks!
So am I… It’s too bad he and Gilmour could never settle their differences. But more amazing music came after regardless. Here’s their last reunion in 2005
I’ve discovered for me spotify, where´are a lot a good podcast
After you watch this video, I know what you will be thinking… You’ll be thinking, “Jeez, I didn’t know that @fidalgo_vapes moonlights as a Pop star” and while the profile picture is uncanny and you will find both the song and Fidalgo at a strip club, it is not him.
