One of the things I love is a singer going from melodic to full on guttural screamo. Here’s Krysta Cameron doing just that. I saw her at a Warped Tour concert when she was with the band, I Wrestled a Bear Once.
First time I heard her, couldn’t believe that voice was coming out of her and @2:30 of this vid… makes me believe she actually did wrestle a bear once. LOL .
R.I.P Jimmy…
NAD at the cottage … nice.
A friend paid $500 to see Aerosmith this fall. Even though I can afford to pay that, I won’t. It’s a principal thing. Overcharging fans to help pay for Tyler’s coke habit and mounting legal fees is highway robbery. LOL
I’d rather remember them here in their prime. One of my fav songs from early times before they became commercialized.
Not seeing them sit on a chair on a big screen from the “cheap” seats.
She and Joan Baez are two of my favorite vocalists, along with Ann Wilson. They all have fantastic voices.
The Damned, Smash It Up Pts. 1 & 2 (Machine Gun Etiquette, 1979)
"People call me villain oh its such a shame
Maybe its my clothes must be to blame
I don’t even care if I look a mess
Don’t want to be a sucker like all the rest"
Now and then , I like to give a listen to an older, obscure ablum - kinda like listening to to it for the first time all over again.
Although the album production comes off as a Vegas show and doing her own background & harmony vocals is, well, kinda weird, the Brazilian/calypso influences on the music and a unique voice made it an enjoyable break from my normal menu of blues & rock.
I remember playing “Buckingham-Nicks” on the radio when I was a DJ prior to them joining Fleetwood Mac. Bet the concert will be fantastic !!
I saw her once with Fleetwood Mac and looking forward to seeing her solo concert.
I think you told us before you used to DJ. I bet that was a fun gig as well?
