@Mew I’ve not seen REO live, but have seen Styx a bunch of times from my junior high and high school days before they were big when they were a band that played a lot of high school dances. Got to see them once after they got big. Sorry about the sound when you first saw REO. It sucks when that happens.

@Lostmarbles @NeonKoala We just need to remember to “Roll with the Changes”.

Ahh yes… I saw Styx with Foreigner and Kansas. But without all the original members. The classic rock bands’ comeback tours. Here’s the one’s that I saw. I know… not the same. Glad you got to see Styx with Dennis DeYoung.

I remember when I was in junior high, my brother took me to my first concert (RATT), I saw them again many years later (kinda). It was one of those tours where a bunch of bands that used to headliners all come together with only half their original members and go on tour for the sake of us that are still nostalgic for hair metal. :metal:t2: If I remember right, it was RATT, Firehouse, Warrant, L.A. Guns, and Dokken. But when you see five “headliners” for $17 it’s almost a little sad

This one makes me ponder what would happen if the Blue Man Group ODed and watched Hannibal Season 2.

Open your eyes and ears to some new(er) not so well known music. Give this tune a try next time your family is out and about around the country:

Years ago, when I was working on the ramp, at the airport, me & the guy I was working with got into a snowball fight with Kansas, when they got off the plane. We kicked their asses, and still managed to grub 4 free tickets to the show. They were backing up Heart.

I even got to see Styx before Tommy Shaw. He replaced John Curlulewski. Even though Dennis DeYoung is no longer in the Styx picture, they still are an awesome band. Same with Foreigner. I miss Lou Grammatica, but think Kelly Hanson has done a fine job. But neither band is the same without Dennis and Lou.

Got to see Kansas at our Taste of Colorado about 5 or 6 years ago. Though there were only a couple of original members, they still sounded darned good. Their “lead” singer was very, very good, but not the same as Steve Walsh.

I remember getting Kansas on cassette from Columbia House, because it was such a bargain! :joy:

Nice lineup. I’d call that a bargain. :metal:

I love stories like this. What a great memory.

I think you know my answer to that…

They couldn’t hang. They waved the white flag pretty quickly. We had the secret weapon. (Gloves)

Tina’s version is a very good one but I prefer the 1971 OG from AG.

Just found out a good friend from high school passed away last night. We hadn’t talked in a few years, but the loss still hurts. Not the way I wanted to start my Wednesday but such is the bounty of life.

So long, Will. Rest well and enjoy the next leg of the journey.

Aussies will know who this is but not sure about the rest of you out there. We all know him as “Farnsy” or “The Voice”. Great Aussie talent with an equally amazing voice. This is one of my faves from John. Recorded in concert back in 1990. That might explain his haircut :face_with_peeking_eye:. For those who haven’t heard him before, hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Disclaimer: John was actually born in England but came down to Australia with his parents when he was 10. Still counting him as an Aussie though .
