What Are You Listening To? (Part VI) 2022/23

I won’t lie. I shed a tear hearing of Christine McVee passing. I’m thankful I was able to see Fleetwood Mac 7 yrs ago with full band. I paid $300 for my seat and was sick when it was cut short because Mick got sick. Here’s the vid when the sound guy came in and substituted and McVee singing Songbird as an ending as she always did… RIP Christine

Yeah not the best sound on that one but I was there, in Lincoln. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
Here’s one from The Dance DVD. Funny that this song has recently been featured In a car commercial. I read online that Chevy was bombarded with calls wanting to know who sang it. Reciord sales went up. Not sure about the electric cars.

Thanks for posting this. Steve did a great sub job.
Christine McVie’s death really hit me harder than expected. Very sudden. I had no idea she was 79 years old. A fine performer, a great songwriter and a sweet voice. She was wonderful as Christine Perfect before she joined Fleetwood Mac and was an integral part of Fleetwood Mac’s success. I was amazed at how she handled all the personality issues, relationship issues and band challenges over the years. Another loss for the music world and she will be missed.

I saw them many years ago (30???). they were great except Stevie was very out of shape. Couldn’t go more than two songs without walking off stage. Probably for oxygen. Could still belt them out though.
RIP Christine.

While reminiscing Christine McVie’s career, I came across this gem. Lindsey is a total badass

Yes he was. Saw Fleetwood Mac in the late 80’s. Fell asleep during the performance. May have been the ludes tho. Wasn’t till Buckingham Nick’s joined the band that the band had Super Star status. Those two could write and proform.

A very worthwhile interview with Mick Fleetwood, that details the ‘pre Super Star’ years of Fleetwood Mac. For those unfamiliar with the Peter Green (founder) years, do a little more digging.

I had to find a video of this to make sure he had enough fingers to pull it off

I think it was a BIG mistake kicking Lindsey out of the band but it is what it is. I read he had a heart attack after being ousted.
The fact that he never used a guitar pick was always impressive. I never really cared for his solo stuff but he shined when with the band. I did enjoy this one though. A holiday classic. :christmas_tree:
